Some headcanons about my Dragon Age characters if they were in "Avatar: The Last Airbender," for my poor followers who don't give af about my new AtLA hyperfixation lol:

Telhara Surana: Earthbending suits her best in terms of martial style, but on the other hand Bloodbending works great with her whole entropy/death magic theme so I'm not sure which one to go with for her.

Allegria Hawke: Firebender, no question. She would be better suited to the "Legend of Korra" era of Republic City tbh, I can totally see her being on a pro bending team!

Thalon Lavellan: Similar to Telhara, I'm torn with Thalon cus Airbending is definitely the most in line with his style of fighting, but Waterbending is the one associated with healing soooo idk!

Halahn Lavellan: He'd straight up be the Avatar tbh, he's just that op lol. Probably a Firebender or Airbender by birth, but he's equally gifted with all the elements from a young age and also has a strong connection to the Spirit World. In this version of him, Wisdom would be his animal guide – a dragon!

🥭 headcanon about where they live or a place they have traveled to

Halahn is a Dreamer like Solas and Feynriel, meaning he has the power to enter the Fade at will without the use of lyrium, and can enter and influence the dreams of others. He often spends long hours in meditation, walking the Fade and communing with spirits, though in the AU where he becomes the Inquisitor, his journeys there are less frequent and less lengthy than they once were.

Unlike Solas, Halahn has little interest in ancient ruins and battlefields. Instead, he prefers to seek out those parts of the Fade tied to places of cultural significance for both Dalish and city elves. The site of an Arlathvhen held in decades past, the reverently tended vhenadahl at the heart of a city alienage, the ancient grove where Dalish legends say Ghilan’nain was transformed into the first halla – all of these are places where Halahn has entered the Fade to seek a greater understanding of his People and their place in the world.

I rewrote Thalon’s backstory a while ago to get rid of the references to homophobia as a cultural norm among the Dalish. It may be quasi-canonical, but it’s also lazy, overdone, and a discredit to the real-world indigenous and non-Western cultures that inspired the Dalish, many of which accept or openly embrace queerness.

That said, I’ve been going thru some old files and found this bit I wrote before the backstory changes. I’m mainly sharing it cus I know @the-fluffynug will appreciate Halahn being so...Halahn lol.

Thalon remembered the day he had stood, hand in hand with Halahn, before the Keeper. He remembered how his voice shook and his hand trembled, but Halahn’s hand had been wrapped steady and sure around his, and he found the courage to utter the words: We wish to be bonded, Keeper, before the eyes of the gods and the ancestors.

He remembered how his heart had dropped into the pit of his stomach when Deshanna refused. “A bond represents the union of two people as one to become three. Its purpose is the affirmation of the miracle of life from seed to womb to cradle.”

“I did not realize the ancestors were so concerned with where my seed found itself,” Halahn retorted. Thalon’s ears had burned bright red. When Halahn glanced at him, his hazel eyes had softened, but the fire was there. “Mamae, ar lath ish, nuvenir hima saotem.” *

“You are First,” came Deshanna’s cold answer. “Your duty must come before all else.”

Halahn had been his mother’s son, and it had never shown more than in that moment. “Ma nuvenin, Amelan.** My duty will come first, then, before all else — and before the women you throw at me as though I were a buck in heat.”

Thalon remembered his shock when he heard anger in Halahn’s voice for the first time, how he had begged Halahn to let it go, that it wasn’t important.

“It is the only thing that is important,” Halahn had answered.

My favorite thing about the Inquisitor Halahn AU is that it's IMPOSSIBLE for Solas to get away with his wooey ""according to my research in the Fade"" bullshit when Halahn is also a Dreamer and has Wisdom inside his head.

Solas: Ah, yes...I know all about this obscure form of elven magic that no one has practiced in a thousand years cus I saw it in the FAAADE.

Halahn: O rly? Which part of the Fade exactly?

Solas: Oh, uhhh, I mean, it was...a really deep part of the Fade, I'm sure you haven't been there.

Halahn: Try me. :)

Solas: Well, you see, you can't get there unless you have spent years learning to clear your mind of corrupting influences in order to befriend spirits of--

Halahn: Wisdom? Yeah, he's my buddy, we go way back. You wanna tell him what part of the Fade it was? Gimme a sec, I'll go fetch him.

Solas: ಠ_ಠ

Cathaire/Remi is the type of spice-lover who will turn red, tear up, sweat a lot and get a runny nose when eating. He might also get a tummy ache after but he loves spicy food so much. He's still holding out hope that someday his body will build resistance and the symptoms will stop. haha

I love him so much, Essie. Poor dainty white man and his love of spices looool.

As you probably could’ve guessed, Halahn has NO trouble with spices. He will sit next to Remi and eat the exact same dish, as happy as a clam. And you KNOW he’s giggling at the faces Remi makes while he’s eating lol. But Halahn’s taste for spice is balanced by a terrible sweet tooth. He’s always sneaking little cakes and cookies from the Skyhold kitchen throughout the day and cannot understand how Remi lived his whole life in Orlais without getting fat on all the delicious SWEETS.

Mo'olani, and Halahn because I suspect he's changed since the last I saw my heartthrob. :p

I definitely lied about the new guy’s name, whoops. I was going to name him Mo’olani but I forgot that I actually decided to change his name to Mo’omele. His friends call him “Momo” for short, hehe. And as for Halahn, not much has changed about him, believe it or not!

Place of origin: Wyvern Hold, a sea-faring Avvar clan of northeastern Ferelden and the Amaranthine Ocean

Occupation/Affiliation: He’s a Grey Warden who is sent to Vigil’s Keep to support the Hero of Ferelden and eventually becomes Warden-Commander of Ferelden when she leaves to find a cure for the Blight

Occupation/Affiliation: He was the First of Clan Lavellan until his untimely death, except in the AU where he becomes Inquisitor

I like to headcanon that the official colors of the Inquisition might change depending on the affiliations and personal style of the Inquisitor themself.

So here are my three Inquisitors and the Inquisition colors I imagine for them:

Thalon Lavellan -- (Canon) -- Dalish elf mage. Spirit healer. Knight-enchanter specialization. A reluctant hero who uses his position to help the Dalish people while making allies of humans. Supports a softened Leliana as Divine.

Inquisition Colors: Black, charcoal grey, emerald green, and gold.

Halahn Lavellan -- (AU) -- Dalish elf mage. Dreamer. Rift mage specialization. A man of unequaled talent, anointed by fate and guided by a benevolent spirit of Wisdom. Supports Vivienne as Divine.

Inquisition Colors: White, royal purple, and gold.

Ihsaan Adaar -- (AU) -- Tal-Vashoth warrior. Mercenary. Templar specialization. A ruthless tyrant who believes she is the literal reincarnation of Andraste and wields the Inquisition as a holy army. Romances a hardened Leliana and supports her as Divine.

Inquisition Colors: Black, steel grey, crimson red, and silver.

1. Softest hair and 6. Best laugh for your ocs~

1. Which OC has the softest hair?

Hmmm, I don’t like how this question is worded. The implication that soft hair = good hair smacks a bit of casual racism to me. So instead, I’ll answer with the OCs who have the best-looking and/or most dramatic hair.

Halahn Lavellan (DA) wins this one with his long, silky auburn hair. He has never cut it in his entire life. It falls all the way to his butt, and it’s his pride and joy. If he ever had to cut it he would weep for days. Here’s some art of Halahn and his hair, courtesy @sunshinemage. <3

Runner-up is Joanna Tucker (I&A) who refuses to straighten and plait her hair or cover it with a bonnet, despite the expectation that as a young black woman of wealth she should want to emulate white women. Instead, she wears her hair in a short afro, something like this or this. It’s a deliberate statement, but it’s also just plain gorgeous.

And last but not least, Tsung (DH) whose long, flowing black hair inspires awe and thirst whether tied back in a knot or left to fall freely. That hair drama would give Saruman the White a run for his money.
