Hal doesn't regard Thalassa as his mother she is his big sister. Alcyone is his 'Mama'. He doesn't refer to Aether as his father if he can help it, in fact he rarely mentions him.
Headcanon 0.04
Hal cannot wait to meet new people, having only spent time with either Alcyone or his father. He doesn't remember his mother, Alcyone is his 'Mama'. Thalassa is his elder sister and he hopes one day to meet her.
Headcanon 0.03
Hal doesn't hate his father, he doesn't like him much but he has a grudging respect for him.
Headcanon 0.02
Hal is the complete opposite of Aether, he is happy, funny, bright and optimistic.
Which winds Aether up completely, he often quips that the boy is too much like Hemera. That maybe he should have taken charge of him when he was smaller to mold him better.
Hal knows he would never have done so, because he would have hated haven't to take care of him and for that Hal is grateful that Alcyone was the one to raise him. He would have liked to have spent time with his mother/sister Thalassa, but he understands why she was wary of having him especially as he knows how he came to be.

Aethal prefers to be called Hal, from everything Alcyone taught him about his father he has never wanted to be reminded that he is part of him.
Knowing how Hal feels though, Aether has always called him by his full name... well that or boy in a derogatory way.
Headcanon | Hallam & Love
One of the main reasons Hallam often acts like he doesn't care or doesn't want to be cared for is because he likes to think he is not allowing himself to care for anyone or anything. He has once lost someone he loved and believes he has turned his heart into stone, though in truth he is not as heartless as he'd want. It is easy for him to grow fond of someone with a strong spirit (being female helps too), but he'd never admit that to anyone.
In addition Hallam thinks that no one would ever in turn care of him. He has a very realistic - perhaps even gritty - view of himself. He does not even try to hide the fact that he is a criminal, a thief, a murderer, a drunk, lecherous, dishonest, old, butt-ugly in his own mind (no matter that he often acts like he has the face of prince charming) and all in all repulsive.
It's almost like a snowball effect: since he doesn't think anyone could ever have any kind of positive feelings towards him, there is no need to try and gain those feelings through proper decorum or even taking care of his physical appearance.
Also he thinks that when he does not care for anything except himself and his own survival, it is the freest he can be. There are no obligations, no rules, nothing to stop him from doing what he wants and when he wants.

25: Any quotes or favorite quotes?
Where do I even start? Hmm. I’m quite fond of saying "I’m a man of my own." Then again once I also heard a wise man say: "Your worst enemy is your own fear." Well. I don’t know about that, really. I’d say your worst enemy is the one that’s able to take you down.
//Mun would like to comment that you all should expect many, many quotes Hallam likes start to appear on this blog. I found a lot of them.
27: What is life to them?
Life is…a constant struggle for survival. And unpredictable as well. You never know whether the man you meet can and will kill you or not, so you always have to be ready to take the first blow, if they attack. A good life, however, means a warm fire, a hearty meal and a safe place to rest.
30: Are they healthy?
//Mun is going to take over for this one. Hmm. I'd say yes and no. It all really depends on what Hallam can get his hands on at times. If he has the money, part of it goes to mead and wine, but he refrains from drinking when he can't afford it. When it comes to food, he eats what he can get, be it a stolen apple or a hunted rabbit. And exercise, hmm...he's semi-fit? A man who is constantly either fighting or running can't be unfit, but he's no Adonis either.
Then there's the aspect of ailments. Illness too depends on his living conditions. If he doesn't have a warm place to be during winter or a shelter during the cold autumn rains, you bet he's going to get a cold. But yeah. Because he is mostly living outdoors, I'd say he does get sick a bit more often than your regular townsman.
33: What do they think of themself?
//Hallam thinks he has done the best he can with the cards he was given. He's not always particularly fond of himself, though it might seem like that most of the time, but he is proud of his courage. He does not like to see himself evil, but instead thinks that if everything had gone differently, he would've become an honest man instead of a thief and murderer.
