America (the band)-Halcyon days
After a more than one month long countdown, America’s new album has been dropped yesterday! It features re-recordings of their most famous hits and their new song “World of light”.
The re-recordings made some slight changes to the original instrumentals, making this re-recording more interesting than the usual compilations dropped out of the blue by 1970s/1980s groups. Despite time passing, the re-recordings remain faithful to America’s usual style, that I personally find lulling. I think to their songs as stories told during a long road trip to make the travel less boring.
The re-arrangements have more country vibes than the original versions, but country is not a stranger to America’s genres -pop-rock, soft rock, folk and country indeed.
And the new song, “World of light”, has a particular and reassuring imagery, and I found the melody comforting!
