theres a theory going around thats its tyelpes dead wife and kid which i dont like bc tyelpe baby has a tragic enough life without adding more dead family to the mix

Urgh yeah, I don't like that idea either D: but there's nothing to suggest it should be, is there? I mean, you're right, Tyelpë does have plenty of dead family members already to be sad about and the trailer only said "my family"... but then there's also Tolkien estate issues that come in for everyoen who is not Galadriel, so I don't know :S

like its bad enough that the ranger has his wife and ids killed but now tyelpe has a dead wife and kids?? like why do they feel the need to kill off women and children?

Because obviously game developers don't think that their (male) audience can sympathize with any other problem than 'my wife and kids were killed brutally'

Like 'I was tortured to death and got a huge spear shoved through my body' or 'my whole line was killed' or 'the place I used to live at was destroyed by dragons TWICE' or 'a guy I really trusted betrayed me and used my work, which is sacred to me, to fuck over the whole of middle earth' apparently is not relatable, but a slaughtered wife and kid IS

I mean, we know that if Tyelpe HAD HAD kids, we'd have known EVERYTHING about them (essi, amilesse, epesse, way of death, day of birth.... unless it was a girl of course)

I THOUGHT THEY WERE REFERRING TO THE FEANORIANS AS A WHOLE AND NOT GIVING TYELPE A DEAD WIFE AND KIDS?? grrrs at game creators

If you watch closely, you can see a woman and a kid when Ranger says 'Your family...?'

I can't remember any Feanorian women that could be that close to Tyelpe (and in Middle Earth) at that time, so..... looks like once again the only reason why women are even mentioned in fantasy is to get slaughtered for man pain

yknow, it's not enough that Sauron uses his body as a fucking standard or that the whole rest of his family died because of Sauron's master (except Gilly, Galadriel and (far removed but still) Elrond)
