Here in latin america, we have this expression (both in my language [portuguese] and in spanish) that calls your significant other your “other half of the orange” - that is: you are a “half-orange” and somewhere in the world there is a person that completes you, and this is your other half: the other half of the orange. This half-orange-guy is said to be the person who will love you most and make you the happiest. If you are single, people tell you someday you’ll find the other half of the orange. If you break up, people say that maybe they were not your other half of the orange.... And so on. I find it very silly, to be honest, and so I’ve used it here! XD

And remeber y’all: You’re not half an orange! And it’s not like you’re the whole orange either. You just aren’t an orange to begin with! XD
(an extra pic for you all:)
(Just to make it clear: the “unfortunately” on the second pannel is not to be taken seriously. Cyrus is not suicidal in my comic’s canon, he just likes to... let’s say, make a bit of a drama. And this dark humor of his with this tendency to depresiate life, the world and himself, has also got nothing to do with him being aro. It’s related to his own frustrations throughout life and to the fact he has depression.)
The expression "half orange" is a theme to refer to that ideal of love. It has its origin in a myth narrated by the Greek comedian poet Aristophanes in the work of Plato called "The Banquet".
Personally I do not think the couple completes us, hey, I am whole! and I celebrate that we are all different. That's why I re-versioned this idea of half oranges.
Because what matters is that love is LOVE
