The Vatican Museums
We had a great guided tour (small group) of the Vatican today. There are many possible highlights. Here are some of the many works we viewed. The intricate ceilings intrigued us the most, first the Hall of Maps and then a lapis and gold ceiling in one of the former papal residences. (I think they have more modern digs now!) The walls of the Hall of Maps contain centuries-old maps that were so well done, it is said they could still be used for navigation. I expect our Celebrity Silhouette to have GPS, radar, sonar and many other state-of-the-art navigation tools, however.
