The thing about "Personal Jesus" is that if you strip away the cynical edgelord bullshit that accretes to it (partly by design, partly by attrubution) you get exactly what Johnny Cash found: a gospel song. It's the most basic Christian theology wrapped in a postpunk trenchcoat, and it's a far more suitable candidate for reclamation as a hymn than "Halleluia," a masterpiece of Jewish storytelling.

Thank you @dawnemacphersonmortgages for your love, support and a most yummy meal yesterday. 🍝😋 For one month I’ve eaten everything and anything I wanted. 🍿🍦🍔🍟 No restrictions. As great as it felt in the moment I’m smart enough to know it’s not helping my cause of staying alive. (Ps. Plus I’m constantly bloated) My cancer is known to be aggressive. My cancer has proven itself to be aggressive. If I want to dance with the beast, I need to become a beast. ⠀ ⠀ I’ve admitted before, I really disliked being on the ketogenic diet.. but I did a lot of medical study research early after my original diagnosis and there are actual scientific medical studies that show promise that along with treatment the Keto diet can ACTUALLY starve cancer cells. ⠀ ⠀ My Keto journey:: Jan 2018, I was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer. February 2018 I started chemotherapy treatments. My ca-125 bloodwork numbers continued to rise after my first few months of chemotherapy treatments indicating the treatment was’t working. Immediately after I started the ketogenic diet my numbers started to drop👻😳🤗 and continued to drop until they hit normal range. #halleluia ⠀ ⠀ About 6 months after committing my nutrition to a Ketosis lifestyle I started to wean myself into more of just a “low carb” option. I like low carb SO MUCH better but apparently so did my cancer.. hence my reoccurrence. I’m not saying I “caused” my reoccurrence but I am suggesting that I was no longer doing everything in my power to prevent it. ⠀ ⠀ Since the reoccurrence.. despite receiving chemotherapy, my ca-125 numbers once again are continuing to rise 😱.. indicating (not conclusive, only a scan can confirm) that the treatment isn’t working. #comeonchemo #youhaveonejob #workwithmehere ⠀ ⠀ I know what I need to do.
