so theres a plot hole in hallowrainforest: Naru isn't dead, so why would Ori wander off with some strangers? while it's in charcter for Ori to help them, abandoning Naru isn't

It’s not a plot hole. Ori hasn’t abandoned Naru. Naru has become too weak to get out of bed, so Ori has been doing most of the chores. Such as foraging for food and bringing it back to the shelter before the rain begins.

Currently Ori has taken their new friends to the nearby town that is largely unaffected by the rain. Where they are currently “shopping” for lack of a better term.

I know none of this is explicitly stated in the comic (mostly on account of the 3 protagonists being mute/selectively mute/don’t speak each others language) with Sein being the only one in the group capable of speaking to all of them. But I tried my best to imply it.

Thanks for asking, random guy on the internet. I'm doing well, circumstances for me at home irl are getting better, though of course, they'll never be the same as they were before.

I'm hoping that during the fall season I can finally start picking up where I left off, and seeing how people are still interested in my fanworks after all these years has me feeling better about the prospect of lifting some of those hiatuses.
