mike is an aries. since mike’s birthday was mentioned in the previous ask, let’s talk about it ! since there’s no canonical birthday for mike, i decided to choose one myself. aries is the first sign of the zodiac, thus being the marking of a leader, which mike is; aries aren’t afraid to take initiative, and are typically the first to dive into things head - first --- both of which are qualities that he possesses. they’re also blunt and straightforward, so it only seemed to make the most sense for him to be an aries [ but not in so much that his birthday would interfere with will byers’, mike being born 3 weeks later ]. if i hadn’t chosen aries, i would’ve either made him a gemini or a virgo.
mike is never seen without his casio calculator watch. it’s my favorite possession of his, don’t ask me why. it was again, likely a gift from his father, and he’s had it since he was about ten or eleven years old. everyone on the show wears watches, but mike’s is special --- the fact that it’s both a calculator and a watch being a testament to his nerdy personality. not only that, but his watch was used as a [ minor ] plot device in s1.
