underrated Halsey performances
| limited to professionally-shot performances available on YouTube |
1. “Juicy” - a cover of the Notorious B.I.G. song she samples in “New Americana”. gives me vague dreams of a halsey album where she actually raps. and she looks like she’s having so much fun!
2. “New Americana” - same era as the above video. her most reviled single (never understood why) stripped down with a young choir behind her. peak androgynous Halsey, plus she has such great chemistry with the other performers.
3. “I Will Follow You Into the Dark” - much more recently, Halsey sat down with Yungblud to perform this very sweet cover of the Death Cab for Cutie song. really shows how much she’s grown vocally.
4. “Lucid Dreams” - another cover, this time of the hit Juice WRLD song. she channels some serious emotion and makes the song a delicate ballad compared to the faster and more energetic original.
5. “100 Letters” - probably my all-time favorite Halsey song, performed live for the first time. she looks and sounds amazing, and sings with so much passion.
