- as time went on her parents were proud of her success and work, but?? they kinda started pushing her to find a husband and “settle down” ???
- she did actually end up meeting a man because long story short her father’s co-worker had a son around the same age and blahblahblah
- amara’s worst fear was slowly becoming a reality? however, instead of putting everything to a stop right away she just gives into her parents wishes and spends time with this man
- on the day their engagement was supposed to be official, homegirl panicked and probs cancelled the whole thing off. when her parents demanded a reason, instead of telling the truth she just insisted it wasn’t the right time
- her parents were humiliated and embarrassed and basically cut ties with her? told her they would speak to her again when she felt ready to move on with the engagement. however, her siblings stood by her side.
- amara knew she would never be ready. she started feeling isolated and empty in chicago so on a whim she started researching other places to live and wow halston happened to be one of those places!!
SO AMARA has lived in halston for about 2 years now. her parents still aren’t speaking to her which is Hard but she has accepted it. she is still a real estate agent and loves her job sm???

first things first: he is graysons fraternal twin brother. the two were separated when they were young by the foser care system, and frankly, know nothing besides the fact that they each have a sibling out there.
since he was young, sawyer was always the back of the class kid. he wasn’t called on and barely looked at once. he easily mingled not the crowd and he liked it that way. no one was watching you. no one tried to get to know you. he liked being a fly on the wall ; knowing what was going on without being involved.
he’d bounced around from foster home to foster home, per the system. it wasn’t as many as some other kids, but he’d been in more than he could count on one hand for a multitude of reasons.
eventually, it got old and sawyer wanted out. but where was he going to go? by now he was in one of the bigger cities in the state, so he decided his best bet at 13 was to run away. don’t all kids do something like that at some point? maybe, but sawyer actually stuck to his word.
that same night he ventured into the big city was when he met the person who would become his true best friend and the only person he could consider family: allie. allie then introduced him to what she called her ragtag group of kids. they were a group of runaways who were kind of like a street family.
eventually, allie and sawyer started to grow up. they got jobs and began to move into their own apartment in santa monica. it wasn’t a bad way to live, but it always felt a bit abnormal since he didn’t finish highschool or go to college like most kids his age did.
about a year or two ago, allie confided in him that he was pregnant. the babies father was a one night stand she knew they could raise the baby together ( in a baby daddy-esque type situation ). sawyer knew next to nothing about kids, but this was his best god damn friend. he would rather die than try to help her out.
ten months ago leah marie nillson was born. all seemed well for a while. it wasn’t until ( death tw ) allie was killed in a car accident that sawyer really woke the fuck up and realized that he had to take care of this kid. she wasn’t his, biologically, but he still felt like she was his kid.
realizing that he couldn’t afford living in santa monica any longer, sawyer moved them to halston. it was here that he got a job at tiffany’s as a bartender and is working on getting his ged while taking care of leah.

okie doke so beau is biologically teddy’s full brother and half related to the maguire’s. and while their mom loved teddy when he was a baby, beau was always seen as a mistake to her (he’s got some major mommy issues people). his mom was around until he was 8 and then didn’t come back around until he was 18, when she tried to take teddy away from him. beau flipped and did not let that happen.
so anywayyy this soft boye is very, very smart but you wouldn’t know that unless someone else told you. he’s very private about that and has never in his life boasted about his academics. he kept to himself in school mostly and i’m pretty sure he was the salutatorian for his class.
buddy was all set to go to MIT on a pretty sizeable scholarship. but a few days before the deadline to commit he freaked and decided that he couldn’t do it. he stayed home to help take care of his brother and the rest of his family. very few people probably know about MIT and the scholarship just because he is such a private person.
as of right now he does odd jobs for neighbors and works as a grocery store cashier. but recently he started an internship with google at their san francisco office. he works with their software engineers and is learning more about code. he doesn’t want to tell his family that because this internship could lead to a job which would lead to him leaving them. he doesn’t want to think about that.

maxine “max” rivera (don’t call her maxine unless she’s in trouble) has been the apple of her father’s eye from the moment she was born. sure he would have preferred to have a son to pass the company down to, but he soon learned that max would work just as hard if not harder than a son would
on the complete opposite end of things max and her moth have never seen eye to eye. they got into arguments quite often and neither of them were ever willing to back off and apologize. so when mama rivera left max was like “mom who? i don’t remember having a mom”

CAR CRASH TW !! approximately 7 years ago, bentley & sadie were both in the crash that killed their parents along with their youngest sibling, and it frankly gives her a lot of anxiety to think about. even now, being in a car for long periods of time is Uncomfortable.
bentley became her legal guardian and she’s trying her best to make his life as easy as possible. though she doesn’t always succeed she does try because she loves him.
the move honestly..she wasn’t for it. she didn’t understand why he couldn’t find a similar job back in hawaii and why they had to move hundreds of miles away. it didn’t seem right and it didn’t seem fair, but it’s not like she was actually going to tell him that.

her secret is the anxiety over school and frankly? it’s bigger than she thinks. halston high is much bigger, louder & meaner than her old school, in turn making it hard to adjust. it’s starting to show in her personality at home / outside the schools brick walls and in her grades. despite having been there for a few weeks she still doesn’t feel comfortable.
