      as detailed here , rob’s always loved the risky side of sex , considering she’s a bit of an exhibitionist . so , unless it would really put her career or reputation in true danger , she’ll always be up for some element of risk . as for the other side of risky — robin takes precautions , but not always . considering how impulsive and carnal sex is for her most of the time , she often forgets the ‘safe sex’ part . for this very reason she not only takes the pill , but has regular check - ups , mostly for illnesses and infections . she’s never accidentally gotten pregnant ( thank god , she’d like to add ) , but she generally doesn’t really like to think about it . should the need arise , she’ll make a decision there and then , but as of right now she enjoys her sex risky and is convinced she’ll be able to deal with the possible consequences , one way or another .

Will pushes sweat damp curls out of his face and hunches over, sucking in a deep breath. The woods were inviting today, each trail be-speckled with flashes of light slotting through tree tops. The smell of earth was heady, moss mingling with damp dirt carried along a light breeze. Rushing water could be heard several turns off and Will knew if he kept pushing, he’d find the source. There, he aimed to give him and Winston their much deserved break. Their morning run was a bit of a routine by now. Exercise may not stave off the bad dreams or help Will sleep easier, but it did make trekking the stairs in his house less of a battle.  

He reaches to pat Winston on the head and toss the dog a treat when he senses the discomfort bristling the hound. Button ears perk and hair stands stiff on end, and with it, Will’s own nerves went on high alert. Will stands glances around for another dog, a person, something to take the blame for set off his dog. Before he can spot anything significant, there’s a sharp tug from the leash and Will finds himself lurching forward from Winston’s incessant force. With no choice but to bound after him, Will shouts an obscenity and narrowly darts around a turn. Winston slams them both, full force, into someone walking the opposite direction. Both tumble and while Will can feel he still has Winston on the leash, he lets out a sharp whistle from the ground before shouting for Winston, damn it, sit! as he pushes himself up.

Winston heels with a resounding whine and then a slight growl to the stranger when he asks the question. Will rolls his eyes at his dog, wraps the leash tighter about his wrist, and clambers to his feet.

     ❝I’m fine,❞ Will snorts, pushing fallen glasses back up the bridge of his nose. 

     ❝But, what about you? He didn’t...❞ Bite you? lingers unsaid, Will’s hesitance a clear sign he was hoping the man would brush this off.

jamie, generally, is a pretty happy person. when their body allows for it, they love dancing and baking and going for hikes out where available. otherwise, they’ll stay home and play videogames or go online. they’re usually pretty easy to make laugh, and honestly adore any kind of positive attention.

but sometimes, more often than they’d admit to, they’re only faking their happiness. it’s not easy to tell when they’re faking it, but some surefire signs is if they aren’t sleeping or if they’re going out of their way to make other people happy instead – whether that’s lending a shoulder to them, or telling them jokes for no reason. in fact, the days when their excitement and happiness seems over the top are usually the days when they’re not doing well.

jamie lives in a three bedroom suite, which they share with their elder sister, her best friend and her best friend’s girlfriend. it’s not quite in toronto, but rather in one of those adjacent cities or sections of toronto like york. they try to help what they can, using their student loans and their disability payments to help contribute towards rent and food. over all, their place is rather light in tone, with plenty of natural light and overflowing in greenery.

and it’s the first home they’ve ever been happy in. growing up, jamie didn’t really have a very stable home – they lived with their very conservative grandparents, and never felt like they could express themself. although getting kicked out at fifteen was the worst thing at the time, it eventually resulted in a far happier life for them.

“ fuck , really ? ” . perhaps not the reaction normal people should be expressing — not an ounce of shock , no hint of panicking . just good old disappointment , ‘cause god , blood is such a bitch to wash away , and that’s one of her favorite shirts — “ goddammit . ” robin groans , annoyed at the added exhaustion of a wasted shirt on top of an already perfectly bad day . she’s tired , aching for a cigarette and a shot of jack like she’s barely ever desired anything — but this blood stain , now that’s what’s really bothering her . “ i’m sorry , i’ll be just a second — ” , an index raised in apology , she turns to an old closet in the back of the lab , rummaging through the shelves as she swiftly takes off her shirt and remains , back turned against him , in her top . “ don’t mind me , really , just — field accidents , you know ? this bitch of a witch started spreading … i don’t know , witch goo all around . really didn’t care for that . ” when she’s done , her very academic cotton blouse has been replaced by a grateful dead shirt that’s seen better days , but she can’t bring herself to throw out . old things carry history , and well — that’s kind of her whole deal . robin attempts a lopsided smile as if to excuse herself , and returns to take her seat on the edge of her desk . “ alright , so — how can i help you ? ”
