@harmcomforts sent ↪ “And since when has that bothered you?"
Merrick was fuming.
It was stupid, really; she and Amos had their thing, a fling if you could even call it that at most, which meant that him, flirting with another blonde, at the library where she practically lived - it should have meant nothing. She should have just picked up her books and gone to another floor to work on her paper. Or left it alone entirely, pretending she didn’t even see them. Wave, maybe, and gone back to her studies.
But that was easier said than done. Because once Merrick was angry, she was livid. If there could have been fire coming out of her ears, there would have been. Instead, she simply stormed across the room - ignoring the librarian who had to dart out of her path before she slammed her textbook down; “you can go now,” she informed the girl - a freshman, probably, cute but smart enough to sense that staying would be a bad decision as she offered a soft smile to Amos and disappeared.
“You’re never in the library. Why are you here, flaunting other girls at me? Is this because I threatened to go home with the lacrosse guy the other night, because we both know I went home with you. Your - you - stop blatantly picking up other girls in front of me!”
