I mean, what is the crowbar if not the modern Danish Axe or Indo-Persian Warhammer? They both are weapons designed specifically to be used as Shield Crowbars so you can pry their precious protection away from them before going absolutely homo sapiens sapiens on their bones.
Blunt weaponry rocks, it is a really, really good class of weaponry. Even if you don’t have a nail-use ‘hammer, just the action of swinging a potent centrifugal force and fury-fueled heavy blunt head at someone so they can block it with their shield can prove immensely advantageous simply due to the fact that you might break their arm.
