It's been a little over a month since I dropped out of Tumblr and moved over to Bluesky. I still check over here about once a week though, to see whether there's any indication the mods have shaped up (actually I'm not sure how to check for that); and see whether there's anything in my notes I have a comment on. Looks like I'll still be posting here once or twice a month.

Meanwhile at Bluesky where there's no porn ban I've been going a little crazy with the NSFW stuff. I generally got like this every spring already (I'm now calling it my annual second puberty) but till now for posting I'd have to go to Pillowfort which has never been my primary social instead of to, you know, my primary social. I've even gotten myself a scanner so I can do it with pencil drawing and have refreshed my memory of the production procedures I used on Arthur, King of Time and Space. If you're interested it's here. I've even been drawing OCs. I never invent OCs.

i still use the tag hammergate for posts documenting the discrimination against trans women on this site

but those are almost always reblogs. the latest OP to come up in a search on the tag about 22:15 4/1/26 is one of mine from 3 februarys ago

i think we should go back to it or come up with something everyone will use

I don't know whether I could actually do it if I tried but this morning hammergate is beginning to make me think I ought to pick up my triangles and go elsewhere

... You know what, no, that's probably what they want. If we all just up and left they'd just say, "Look at the rats leaving the sinking ship", shut it down, and write it off on their taxes. I say let's not give them the satisfaction of letting them drive us off from something of value to us.

If it gets to you and you genuinely can't bear it here any more, fair enough, godspeed, no hard feelings. But I propose the rest of us should hang on till the end.

I also think it's necessary to talk about how this backlash against discussion of transmisogyny is happening simultaneously with (arguably in collaboration with) a renewed effort on tumblr and here as well to marginalize and dismiss trans women who discuss how transmisogyny is wielded against them by other trans people who are not trans women. I'm referring to a collaboration in the same way that I would say that members of the media collaborate with politicians to demonize trans women. They don't have to be literally working together to be working together, and our focus should be on the work (the harassment, the silencing, the sexual objectification, the ostracizing) that's being accomplished, rather than the feelings or intentions of the people responsible. I don't care how the people who are doing this work feel about being seen as coworkers, for example. These different iterations of transmisogyny and transmisogynistic backlash need to be understood together.
