so sometimes you realize that you might unironically have an interpersonal relationship that is best described using homestuck romance quadrants and then uh

then you die, right, that’s what happens after that

at one point my friends and i were discussing how pupil-less eladrin eyes work, and came to the conclusion that they were actually compound eyes, which obviously means that eladrin are insectoid beings that evolved to become, essentially, elf mimics.

it was only after several more months of jokingly elaborating on the implications this would have for eladrin anatomy that i abruptly, mid-terrible-sentence––

“maybe they have vestigial wings, or extra limbs that... drop off... as they age...”

––realized we had MADE ELADRIN

i’m having a conversation in which my interlocutor keeps rotating through RPing different homestuck trolls

... ok i was going to complain but i’m engaging, so, uh. never mind.

i have to say, the main effect of reading homestuck was how truly distressing it was to find out so many people’s seemingly innocuous usernames were clearly actually their fantroll chumhandles
