This was a hamster named Pecan, owned by my coworker as a teen! The reference pic she sent me was from a prank she pulled on her mom where she kept stealing eggplants from her garden and hiding them in a pile in her room. She took a picture holding Pecan over the hoard, as if Pecan herself were hoarding them! I said I'd include an eggplant in memory of it ❤️

New attempts at upping the North American 'Mimimum' are performative and imho, extremely classist. Meeting your hamsters needs matters more than a checklist designed to make hamsters, a pet that are easily well taken care of by poor people, impossible to attain.

TRIED to only use the base colors from mspaint but i couldn't find a color i was happy with for the middle hamster and adding a self sort of completed the 3 base colors in syrians lol

she's supposed to be my first ever dwarf hamster, Gwen, but I was not using a reference. Gwen was a very overweight winter white, who had a thyroid condition. I was missing her today so I started doodling. Sorry for the red underlay I got carried away and one used one layer for the main doodle, so didnt get to remove the sketch
