It was loyalty and a good heart that placed him in Hufflepuff house, and perhaps more than that the hat saw in him that he needed a family to care for him more immediately than he needed friends to encourage him. Haneul loves Hufflepuff and always has, it’s where he found some of his closest friends, among those warm individuals a small boy from halfway across the world was able to find a place to call home and such a place has always been important to him.
But it’s ambition that bleeds through his veins. Few people will look beneath the colourful hair and sing-song soul to see the ferocity of a boy long meant for greatness, nor will they watch close enough to see the force and power he has always been capable of. Fame, fortune and international recognition are the foundations of his family and no one has carried them as well as Haneul has in all of their history. Prodigy would be a fitting title, in the performing world very few people have the solid familial background and artistic capabilities as one Haneul Yun, he’s the pride and joy of his family and for good reason. A competition winner, lead performer, with offers to study on both sides of the world in performing schools, he’s always been someone who strives to make his family proud and in doing so has accomplished more than most at his age. If the hat had not seen that a nervous, young boy needed immediate comfort from those around him then no doubt he would’ve been placed among the snakes. Slytherin would’ve suited a boy like Haneul well, being placed among housemates who could’ve pushed him to work hard would've provided him with the competitive environment familiar to him back home and, no doubt, he would’ve flourished in the environment. Not to mention he would’ve really liked sleeping under the lake.

in the pit
The bag slung from his shoulder swung as Haneul walked his way down to the dungeons. He’d spent the evening training, of course, having run laps about the grounds and practised several new routines before he’d decided to call it a night and strolled back into the castle as though he had even half the energy he’d had when he left. Of course he was actually exhausted, when the adrenaline wore off he’d no doubt collapse into a puddle on his bed, the navy locks atop his head giving him away. Exhausted and hot, his skin prickled with heat, sweat clung to his form and he was always grateful for the cooler air the dungeons held. Nothing was better than training for hours, reaching his physical limits, and then feeling the gradual change as he weaved deeper into the castle’s underground and found the entrance to the common room.
There was always a quiet understanding there which he appreciated, while Slytherin held some of the bigger personalities of the school, the show-offs and needlessly arrogant fools who’d been raised to crave the spotlight, there was also a mutual understanding among most that they were all much too busy to be causing havoc for each other. No, not to their own. Respect was a feeling deeply rooted in Slytherin, while those outside their house might not necessarily earn their warm favour- Han’s excluded, of course, as he was as bright as he was ambitious- many of those residing within the dungeons understood that causing chaos among their own was rather pointless and so there were boundaries that remained solid between them.
It meant Haneul could enter the common room and people were quite happy that in his tired state he didn’t offer warm welcomes to everyone he came across, instead he strolled through in a hurry to reach his dorm so he could shower before bed, he was definitely ready to call it a night and sleep off the aches that so often began trickling into his limbs when he’d worked them so hard for hours on end. There were few things nicer than the cool quiet of his dorm, of flopping down onto deep green sheets, bag dropped off at the end of his bed, knowing that none of his dorm mates would bother him when he nodded off in a splay of limbs. Though he would have to remember to bother getting some pyjamas on, once or twice he’d wandered straight out of the shower in nothing more than a towel and dozed off just like that, waking up the next morning to find he’d almost exposed himself for the majority of the night. Luckily many of his dorm mates now knew if he nodded off in just a towel they were free to throw a blanket over him, both so he didn’t catch cold and so he wasn’t flashing everyone in his sleep. He, of course, was completely comfortable with his body but even so he wasn’t overly keen with the idea of accidentally being naked. If people were going to see him without clothes on he definitely wanted a choice in the matter.
All such thoughts were in the back of his mind when-
“Oh!”
Distracted in an instant he swerved before he could head off to the dorms and instead he was running and then diving into a seat set into the window, bag shrugged off his shoulder so he could press both hands up against the glance- his nose too, smushed against the surface- and squinted into the glinting waters of the lake where the mere shadow of the squid remained in the distance. Still, it was enough and Haneul found himself grinning, filled with energy once more with his temporary joy. This was perhaps his favourite thing about Slytherin, not the people or the attitude but the place itself, tucked away beneath the lake it meant the windows were always alive with some kind of movement, distant or near. And he loved it. He loved getting brief glimpses of the squid when the gigantic creature decided to peek inside the common room and see what they were up to, in his first year Haneul had spent hours at a time in the evenings sat in this very same seat, his face pressed to the window as he waited and waited and waited for even a glimpse of the thing. How he longed to befriend it, to feed his curiosity and learn more about the neighbour that so few people ever got a proper glimpse of. Many were convinced the squid was a male but Haneul was quite sure, sometimes at least, that the squid was in fact a lady. A large, lovely, shy lady who liked to check up on them from time to time, who kept a watchful eye over the lake and it’s inhabitants. The mother of the lake, perhaps? A beautiful, gracious creature who liked to eat toast- so he’d heard- and on several occasions had tossed students back towards the shore when they’d swam too far and lost their energy. There was definitely a maternal feel about it, whatever it may be, and out of all the wonders Slytherin house offered the squid’s brief company was undoubtedly the one he treasured most.
Capricorn is a sign that represents time and responsibility, and its representatives are traditional and often very serious by nature. These individuals possess an inner state of independence that enables significant progress both in their personal and professional lives. They are masters of self-control and have the ability to lead the way, make solid and realistic plans, and manage many people who work for them at any time. They will learn from their mistakes and get to the top based solely on their experience and expertise.
Belonging to the element of Earth, like Taurus and Virgo, this is the last sign in the trio of practicality and grounding. Not only do they focus on the material world, but they have the ability to use the most out of it. Unfortunately, this element also makes them stiff and sometimes too stubborn to move from one perspective or point in a relationship. They have a hard time accepting differences of other people that are too far from their character, and out of fear might try to impose their traditional values aggressively.
Saturn is the ruling planet of Capricorn, and this planet represents restrictions of all kinds. Its influence makes these people practical and responsible, but also cold, distant and unforgiving, prone to the feeling of guilt and turned to the past. They need to learn to forgive in order to make their own life lighter and more positive.
