I’ve just completed my first non-Waterstones-related mural, and personally it’s one of my favourites!
Oscar & Rosie’s is a pizza company that has recently moved from a local bar to its own restaurant in the centre of Nottingham. It has a lovely authentic feel and absolutely no pretension to speak of, so it was a lovely place to work in. Also they’ve promised me a free pizza and drink later so I’m literally so excited about finishing work at 7 tonight.
Apparently kids use the bottom of the blackboard to draw on all the time so I left it blank - Ollie the owner said that my design was more likely to last if I did so too. But, saying that, apparently they’re getting loads of random people to come and do temporary murals to keep the place feeling fresh and interesting, which is an idea I love. There’s nothing worse than a chalkboard drawing that’s been there for ages and has been leaned/rubbed/sneezed on, and this place is such a lovely family environment that it needs something ever-changing (in my humble opinion).
So hurray for my first mural! And hooray for getting paid in pizza, probably my second favourite thing to be paid in!
