Since Jackson was such a fan of making life easier and better for people, he normally offered to help random people with a variety of random different tasks. This time he had made a friend at the Library, and he was more than excited to be able to be helpful. When he saw the back of Hanhwa’s head a sweet smile spread across his face, plopping a few books from behind the man, onto the table in front of him. “Look hear me out, I had these really cool books my mom gave me when I was younger,” He looked at the books longingly, turning their pages to see a little handwritten note from his mom. 

Shutting the book cover he pointed to them. “They will be perfect for the level you need to be working at.. Here, first we can practice writing the alphabet, and I know you’ll be able to pick that up fast so I made a little lesson plan with some sentences and things..” He spoke bashfully. Jackson had probably spent way too much time on this, and arguably shouldn’t have but he was almost up until 4am the previous night trying to make it fun. He genuinely wanted this to turn out well.

The sweet Chinese man enjoyed all the questions he was given, even more happy to answer them. “It can take a while but.. to be honest I think you will pick it up really fast. You seem super smart.” Jackson’s hand stretched out to pat the top of Hanhwa’s head but he stopped right in his tracks. The realization of consent to touch ran through his busy brain.

“Is it okay if I pat your head or.. like hug you eventually or something?” A lot of times Jackson wasn’t the best at asking, but he could feel the uncertainty, he could also feel the years of something he could never imagine going on in his new friend’s mind. Of course he didn’t know the struggle’s or experiences that caused Hanhwa to react in certain ways, but his body had a good way of feeling it. To be honest, it only made him want to be a better person for Hanhwa, a person he could trust with any words he may say or ask.

He couldn’t dwell on the question long, since he was overly excited to help, he felt the need to respond to the other man’s question.

“Have you ever seen a game? Like a sports game? There’s these girls or guys who try to..” He had to pause to think for a moment for the right word, “Try to encourage.. Or to motivate! Yeah motivate the players to do a good job!” His smile was so bright his eyes closed for this one. “So It’s like you’re a really cool player and with me cheering you on, it’ll help you win the game!” He wasn’t quite sure if he made the most sense in his explanation, but he could definitely explain it on a different way if he needed to. As many times as he needed to with not a single second of hesitation.

“I think.. the only thing it changes is that you’re not alone. If I’m here for you, you don’t need to worry about anything. If you need something? Just call. I’ll pick up. Need some food? A friend? A shoulder to lean on? A teacher? Being here for you means you can be a little less distressed at any time.” The features on his face softened a deep amount, his eyes finally opening up fully before he remembered something in his bag. “Oh~!” He bent over to reach into the small pocket of his bag, bringing a little paper out. “This is my phone number, and this is my address also.. so if you want to come by, you just have it right there!”
