““I like to call it “couture drag”: take everything we love about razor-sharp menswear with a sprinkle of femininity. We played with contrasts—a halter shirt peeking out from the suit, a corset hand-embroidered by desi mastercraftsmen, and silk panelling that swishes dramatically when I walk,” she says. ... Both Browne and Patel collaboratively infused the design with a personal narrative, drawing on Patel’s Indian heritage to shape the garment. If you're wondering about the inspiration behind the garment, it was Patel's dad. “While other little girls were playing dress-up in their mom’s heels, I was in my dad’s suits—usually drowning in them, but feeling so powerful,” she says.” (x)
