It’s that time of year again, Christmas. when the psycho sides come out of mothers fighting to get the last favorite Christmas toy and among other stuff. Thankfully, most people use the internet and buy items offline so it was not that busy in the coex mall this month. Minhee only reason to be here was to drop off some gifts for old co-workers then decide the grab a coffee on the way out. The brunette has become quite skilled at sliding in & out of these crowds now without getting hurt or spill her coffee on anyone in progress.

Until this one fateful day, on the way out the way, two ladies were fighting turns into a shoving match between the two. Sadly, one of the ladies who got shove went right into the back of Minhee causing her and her coffee jolting forward right into another female who looks younger than herself. There was nothing she could do watching the coffee fly out of her hands straight over the other female top in front of her eyes. The expression of pure horror and sadness filled her eyes as her coffee was completely wasted along with the money she used to buy it. 

“I’m so so sorry about this-- didn’t mean to spill my coffee on you–”

he yawned loudly, before wrapping a thick grey shawl around his neck and covered half of his face with it. he days had cooled down much faster than he expected, but he wasn’t exactly the type to hate the cold. winter gave him a reason to wear comfortable and cozy clothes. and winter meant beautiful snow landscapes. kang joon took a quick look at his phone, before stepping outside.

breathing in the fresh air, he looked around, trying to settle with one way to some food stall before returned back home where gomu waited for him. as he decided to go for some fish cake, he noticed a female waiting in front of the royal building. she seemed to wait for one of his fellow trainees to get outside. actually kang joon wasn’t the type to be bothered about random people standing and waiting for somebody, but something felt weird about the female. slowly shuffling closer, he glanced at her. she was pretty, no question, but didn’t she kinda looked familiar? the tall male blinked. where did he saw her face again?

then he straightened his back and snapped his fingers. “hey there, could it be you are waiting for elly?”

so, being bribed with her own cats was definitely not the way elly expected to be greeted back home. yet, there she was, dropping the five bags filled with every alcohol the store had, along with chocolate, ice-cream, fried chicken and a lot of painkillers for the headaches the next day, which the blonde was more than sure she wouldn’t use.

with all the noise quieting down, the trainee leaned against the counter, facing hani who was not that far away from her. “so, you get to be spoiled, while i get my cats back? from my own apartment? that’s just low, even for you.” she said, obviously joking and grimacing in fake disgust, before her eyes landed on the bottle of whiskey peaking through the bag.

without a second thought, elly reached for it, before waltzing around her, oh so dear and missed, kitchen and getting two glasses. “clean or diluted?” she asked, unscrewing the cap of it and pouring herself first before looking up at hani, brow raised. “i think we are both aware how this will end for me, and we know my patience has been toned down thanks to the survival show. so. clean, or you want some coke with it?”

pushing the limits

Seungjun was not the type to go out much, not when he was balancing Interstellar and a part time job at the same time. But he was not the type who was good at saying ‘no’ either, and that was how he found himself with Hani, out again. There was a warmth radiating from his stomach, and a chill on the cool can of beer as he sat with her. He wanted to excuse his low tolerance for alcohol on the lack of sleep he had, but he’d always been someone who was cheap to get drunk. A smile hanging on his lips as he shook his head again. “No, I’m not drunk. I’m really, really, really not drunk,” he’s denying, chuckle shaking in his chest and tilting his head. 

Seungjun knew he was not drunk, only a little bit more relaxed, only a little bit more easily amused, only a little bit more childish than what he would be sober. He was tipsy, enough to have him blinking away the stars from shaking his head too much. Despite everything, he had fun with Hani. He felt somewhat like he was responsible for her. If she went out alone, got drunk, something bad happened -- his fault for not going with her. How she’d managed to elicit that attachment after a few times of hanging out, Seungjun did not know. But it was there and he was never one to deny something that he felt. 

One hand reaches out for her drink. 

“Maybe we should stop, drink some water,” he begins to utter despite himself. If he was starting to feel a little tipsy, she would be too. They shouldn’t get too drunk. He needed to get them home safely after, both of them. It would be bad to get too intoxicated. The tips of his fingers curling around the waist of her drink and trying to pluck it from her grip without spilling any. Not that that was an easy feat when he was clumsy sober.
