So this happened in my life. Maybe I've secretly wanted to ship this for a long time, maybe. Fiction. SFW. Count: 865. Meghan Tonjes asked for a fic to be written about her, and then she asked to be paired with Hannah Hart. Don't believe me? Here's some proof. So I present to you, MeghanTonjesxHannahHart aka #HANJES

‘I wonder if she knows I was thinking of her when I wrote that line…’ Meghan thought to herself as the small blonde across from her went over the verse again and again.
“Should I do it again?” Hannah asked, breaking into the other woman’s consciousness.
‘Oh. Is she talking to me?’ Meghan looked up from her guitar strings, “Umm, yeah. One more time.”
“I’m worried that you’re gonna hurt me,” the small blonde sang barely higher than a whisper. “Even though that’s not what you want to do. And you know that it makes me so sad, cuz I see there’s no chance for just me and you.”
She didn’t want to have faith in it. They’d written this song two years ago in Hannah’s backyard, right before she’d gone to London that summer. Meghan thought that if anything, the words would just be scribbles on a page, but not feelings buried deep in her being.
“Bring it down a bit.” The taller woman offered, knowing very well there wasn’t a single flaw in Hannah’s voice. “A little huskier, maybe?”
“Sure,” Hannah smiled at her from the table she sat on. “No problem dude.”
“And then, we’re going to have two very special guests performing their song ‘And You Know’!” A loud voice boomed from the other side of the door.
“I’d say we have maybe another five minutes before we go out there.” Hannah said as she looked over her shoulder at the door behind stage that was slightly ajar.
Meghan looked back at the lyrics on the paper, remembering the night she wrote them down, and the few drops of water that had threatened to turn their song into a disaster. “Let’s just finish this run through, then.” She placed her fingers on the proper strings once again.
“You think you’ve, got all the answers. Just ask your heart, what you’re after.” The tiny blonde finished her line and looked back at Meghan.
“I’m not tryin’, to be the one who’s gonna ruin you.” As she lifted her gaze, the ocean met the sky and her breath almost got caught in her throat as Hannah’s eyes stayed on her as she sang. “I wanna stay here, but it’s so clear. It’s not the right thing for me to do.”
Suddenly, Hannah felt the light bulb in her head go off. Her pupils were blown and her heart beat loud enough that she was sure Meghan could hear it. “Every time I think about you next to me.” She did her best to hold her notes, “I wonder if I’ve give up too easily.”
As Meghan saw the realization in her friend’s eyes, she knew her cover was blown. “I’m not saying that I think we’re meant to be.” Meghan took a deep breath, finally breaking eye contact with the other blonde. “But maybe we can see.”
The moment Meghan pressed her lips back together, another booming voice permeated the silence. “Please welcome to the stage, Hannah Hart and Meghan Tonjes!” A sea of cheers and excitement poured through the cracked door as both women stood and faced it.
“I shouldn’t be nervous about this, should I?” Meghan looked down at Hannah.
The older woman laughed to herself, “If you’re nervous about this then there is no hope for me.”
“Hey Meghan,” Hannah asked as they walked out of the room.
The taller blonde almost froze, ‘Please don’t let her say some stupid shit before we have to sing in front of Lord knows who!’ “What’s up?”
Hannah cleared her throat, “That song was never about a guy. Was it?”
‘Not as stupid as I thought it’d be.’ Meghan couldn’t help but smile to herself at the ridiculousness of the situation. They’d been friends for way too long to play the school girl games with one another. So she answered honestly, “Nah.”
“Didn’t think so,” Hannah smiled up at her friend as they walked onto the stage.
They took their places on stools no more than a foot apart from each other as the roar of the crowed died out.
“It seems like every time I’m on this stage,” Meghan says into her mic. “People ask me to sing this song with you.” Looking over at Hannah, she sees the woman blush just slightly, the bright stage lights masking the color from the Vidcon crowd.
“Better late than never!” Hannah offers to the swarm of people in front of them. “So yeah, here it goes.”
Meghan took a deep breath before she began strumming, “Don’t be so, broken-hearted. Cuz you know we’re just getting started. Even though we can see the end,” she sang into her microphone, her eyes slowly lifting to meet Hannah’s. “It’s no reason not to begin.”
And suddenly, it was as if they both knew. Even if they didn’t work out, it’d always be worth trying for.
