Finding your “something”
Have you ever wanted to become something so badly that you cannot escape the thought as if it is haunting you and the universe will not let you live in peace until it is in the works? Well, you are not alone my friend. I know that everybody is there own person and has different goals to achieve, but mine are based around becoming a huge MUSIC PRODUCER! It is my dream to produce beats for the greats of hip-hop and r&b. Yes, beats. The musical instrumentation you hear behind powerful vocals or an ill rhyme scheme. This mindset has triggered me as a young man. The song that did it for me was Tupac Shakur's "If My Homies Call" and the beat that carried his lyrics to the last second of the track. Tupac gave me a visual of what it meant to be loyal to my friends, family, or whoever needed a helping hand in the most legitimate way on this masterpiece. If you haven't heard this song before, I urge you to listen to it even so much that I will link it here. Click that because you will not regret it! I mean, the funky chorus DJ cuts, to the amazing siren noise ringing throughout the beat, and those vibrant piano keys pumping so elegantly over such an original sound just does something to me. Big D, The Impossible was the producer and I thank him for the classic that got me started. It constantly amazes me till this day! I had heard it back when I was a "pee-wee" and I've been truly connected to the hip-hop sound ever since. I knew I had to find out how to do this thing called music production from that point. Luckily, my mom and dad had the best taste in music, which rubbed off on me like paint to a colorless canvas and now I am taking advantage of it. What was that moment like for you? The moment you knew you had to do something? Whatever that something may be. Does it still consume you the same way it did all those years ago? Or maybe you just figured out what your "something" is and you're ready to go abroad with it. Well, I want to say do not let anyone take away your "something" because it is YOURS and you ought to chase it down with everything you have or else the universe will continue to knock, but only if you're lucky will you hear the door shake.
