bryan fuller mentioned they had shot scenes with hannibal scuttling around baltimore via the steam tunnels and when i saw a car painted with a biker club called murdercycles, i was hit with inspiration. walking would be so slow and so logically, bicycle! imagine the crinkles and squeaks as he cycles around in his murder condom.

i used a lot of references on this one: a still from an ad mads did on a bike to get me started on him on a bike, his face from a photoshoot that had similarish lighting, various plastic suit stills, pictures from a milwaukee steam tunnel, a model i created in the app magic poser to get an idea of the shadows on the floor and pipes and a few bike models in sketchfab.com

this is beyond my abilities really so was in the weeds the entire time, hence the excessive number of hours spent on it. but i'm fairly happy-ish with how it came out. i could keep tinkering and refining and perfecting but i'm trying not to do that. too much.

trying to stretch my creativity without it turning into an overworked mess. i liked the background behind her but felt like it was distracting from her portrait so reluctantly put a big old blur on it. speaking of overworked, we're not gonna talk about her hair 😑

i'd been thinking about drawing hannibal in the plastic suit but i decided to go with something a little cheeky instead. and let's be honest, he's got highlights on highlights with that bone structure so i got my squeaky plastic texture feels taken care of anyway.

damn mads and his microexpressions, i struggled to capture that hint of amusement and i didn't want to keep tinkering with the shading, i was already feeling like i was going in circles. so i decided let's quit while i'm mostly ahead
