On 6/26/2006, I received my Gojukai. It’s the day, I converted to Nichiren Shoshu Buddhism. A singer who I had been told years earlier that I sound like named Phoebe Snow was a member of my New York City temple. I was not familiar with her music until someone told me my voice was similar to hers. She was kind enough to participate in the enshrinement of my gohonzon alongwith, my koto(area leader)at the time, Dennis, and his wife Toby. Phoebe was the real deal. She was real. She was down to earth. She loved her daughter. She also sang at the temple from time to time. She had an operatic voice. I don’t think her recordings ever captured her amazing range. Fast forward to 2018. Phoebe and Toby have passed. I’m still in this realm and I’m still singing. I’ve been asking to sing in a tribute to Phoebe Snow. This is a real honor. Phoebe’s music will live on through me, the audience, the musicians who will play her music and the great vocalists @omjohari @kimyadawson @mmmmmmarina @giordano6353 JR Rhodes, Brittany Davis, La Tanya Horace, and Brittany Davis who will also sing her songs. This tribute will take place this October 2018 @royalroomseattle . I’m grateful to be a professional singer in this tribute. #phoebesnow #royalroom #omjohari #latanyahorace #alexrose #brittanydavis #kimyadawson #marinachristopher #jrrhodes #hansteuber (at Seattle, Washington)
