I’m rewatching Throne of Seal and have a strong suspicion that when Long Haochen’s killer aspect appears while he was waiting for the Haoyue/Austin Griffin transformation, it’s a remnant caused by him being the grandson of the Demon King. And he can’t remember it at all.
So he has both the light aspect of being the Child of Light AND the dark aspect from being the grandson of the big bad. And that’s also why he has affinity with Haoyue, who is mischievous at best, but also acknowledged as the destroyer of that previous world. Even the Demon King’s minions are looking for him.
