I'm a little proud of myself for not realising this was a covid movie until being told so in the end credits. I'd forgotten all about it. So i was able to take this to be a kind of modern American suburban Toute un nuit, rhythms of characters being pulled out into the night and whatever artificial light is found. Except there's no real togetherness here, and the photography nowhere near as good as the dark/light in Akerman's movie. Both likely consequences of a covid shoot. I'm going to go forget all about that again. Not forget about this movie, though.
