Hello, Yellow!!! For the sleepy prompts, how about Krexie with 7? I hope you're having a wonderful day 💛💛💛
7. “I’ve been living off of coffee for two days I deserve to sleep!”
Hope you have a wonderful day as well. This takes place about 5 years after the events of Wizards. Sorry this isn’t super shippy, if you’d like something more ship-focused then feel free to request it and I’ll write it for you!
Douxie was very tempted to go beat up whichever billionaire-owned journalist said that everyone worked more in Medieval Europe than the lower classes of America and therefore the lower class should be grateful. Maybe he was getting old, his ancient body going frail despite his youthful appearance, but Douxie felt far more exhausted now than he ever had prior to the Black Death.
Or, better yet, he wouldn’t go do the dark deed himself. He would just trick Bellroc and Skrael into thinking that the address of said billionaire-owned journalist was where Nari was hiding. It wouldn’t do anything aside from achieve a sick sense of vindication, but Douxie was tired enough that the cruel side of himself he kept locked away was starting to eek it’s way out.
But no, no matter how tempting, Douxie was not going to go and attempt to harm that person he had never met. He was going to get the needed rest his body was craving.
And then his phone rang. Specifically, it rang with the ringtone for the video chatting app that he and his friends used.
“I’ve been living off of coffee for two days,” Douxie moaned, “I deserve to sleep!”
“You don’t have to answer,” Archie said.
“No, I do.” There was the possibility that something was in danger. Douxie hit answer.
He was met by Krel’s grinning face. Despite Douxie’s exhaustion, he felt a smile tug at the corners of his lips.
“Something going on?” Douxie asked. His boyfriend’s expression turned quizzical.
“It’s video call night. Did you forget?”
Right. Video call night. Back when Krel was still going to Arcadia’s community college, the two of them had been able to talk more spontaneously, with Krel wormholing to the apartment often. However, he had transferred to Caltech this year, and some of the coursework was challenging even for Krel. So, the two of them would schedule video calls once or twice a week.
“Yeah... sorry.” Douxie scratched the back of his head and suppressed a yawn. “We can still talk, though.”
Douxie ignored the way Archie hissed out the word “bedtime.” He was a grown wizard, capable of making his own decisions and living off of coffee for another several hours so he could talk to his boyfriend.
