Remy wasn't much of a Halloween person. Sure, he liked trick or treating when he was a kid, just like any other. And getting free candy, and an excuse to play pranks, was awesome. But, as he grew up, his interest in the holiday dwindled significantly. He would assume that was normal, much like with other holidays, like Christmas and Easter; but you wouldn't know that in Redwood Hollow, where people took every opportunity to have a party very seriously.
And from all the open-invitation parties in Redwood Hollow, the one which he had been the most interested in was that of this new restaurant, Evangeline's. The fact that they offered samples didn't hurt.
"In case you're wondering," Remy said to the person standing beside him, before they could open their mouth. "Yes, I'm dressed up for the occasion. As a blueberry." It consisted of a blue puffer jacket borrowed from a cousin, and a green beanie. It was probably a new record in low-effort costuming.
