Happy birthday 🎂
happy draco 🥺
this is how draco malfoy wouldve turned out without his traumas
Harry: Hey Draco?
Draco: *looks up from potions essay, annoyed* Yes?
Harry: *furrows brows* Am I a bad student?
Draco: *sets ink and quill aside and throws stuff to floor* If you have to ask me that question, the answer is yes, yes you are.
Harry: But-
Draco: *runs hand over face in exasperation* Harry, you copy either I or Hermione's notes after every lesson but defence. You don't try in the classes you don't care about, and you push your homework off till you can't push it off any longer.
Harry: *sighs* Damn. You're right.
Draco: *smirks* I know, I usually am.
Harry: *glares*
Draco: *sighs* Fine. Would you like me to help you not be such a shitty student?
Harry: *eyes widen with hope and smiles* Will you?
Draco: *smiles slightly at the look on Harry's face* Yeah.
Harry: *jumps up and kisses his cheek* Thank you!
Draco: *blushes* Um, you're welcome. It won't be easy though.
Harry: *smiles slightly* I know.
Tinged With Gold (Part 2)
Here is Part I | Part III | Part IV
Prompt: “It’s funny; I used to think anything was possible when I was a kid.”
Draco Malfoy wakes up when the sun is already too low in the sky, definitely ready to goes back under the safe blanket of the horizon, when the birds have come back to their nests, and when most family gather together in a dining table. Huh, he has slept for almost 18 hours, and yet his body feels absurdly knackered. It was after quite some times when he finally realizes that the boy beside him is still peacefully asleep, and that there is something between his fingers –something that awfully feels like a hand that belongs to a certain someone. He dares a sneaky peek at his occupied hand under the cover –oh Merlin. Oh bloody Merlin tits! His hand is definitely intertwined with Potter’s hand, but only when he dares a second peek that his heart stuttered in his chest, the blood leaves his brain faster than lightning, and making him dizzy for a second.
Their conjoined hands glow in a soft golden hue.
Salazar and Circe, their hands –conjoined hands glow! What kind of magic bullshit is this?!
Draco is silently panicking until he starts to vaguely remember something that has happened years and years ago. He was very, very young when his mother told him something about a story how each and every human was created with one other soul that supposed to belong to them. Unfortunately, not every soul chooses the path they were given –some turn right, others turn left, living the life as they desire to. That’s why there are many people with lost soulmate, but they say once you come back to your designed road, you’ll find the soul you belong to in the end of the road. And Gods have given human a way to not get lost anymore, the hand of Midas, the touch of gold, so that we know which soul that belongs to us as they glow in gold under our mere touch.
‘Do you think I have a soulmate out there, Mother?’ Draco remembers he had asked to his mother that night, his mother had smiled widely and kissed his forehead.
‘There’s someone out there right now probably asking the same question as you, and maybe one day Gods will intertwine your fate together. I will always look forward to that day, my dear boy.’ After that, Draco never even remember the bedtime story because at first he believes it’s just some fairytale, but then he knows there won’t be any day when his soul gets intertwined with another as he had been so far off the right track. He’s lucky to be forgiven, never in the 18 years he had lived he imagines he’ll find that he’s worth for a bond as strong as a soulmate.
He opens his side of blanket to examine their hands better. The hue is more yellow than golden, but he’s not complaining. He’s actually transfixed with the way the light swirls between their touch. It glimmers and Draco is sure he can stare at the magic between them for hours. His mind is giddy with happiness as something warm spreads inside his body, something bursts from his chest and blankets his body in a warm and calm cocoon. Slowly, he separates his hand from Potter’s, hypnotized on how he actually leaves a golden handprint on Potter’s palm that fades after two seconds. He delicately tries to touch the tip of Potter’s index finger, it also leaves Potter’s finger tip glowing in gold, which gradually disappear. Draco grins wildly before touching another finger tip gingerly –Merlin, he actually finds pure joy in touching Potter’s fingers- again, and again, and again –until the reality crashes above his head like a bucket of ice.
Harry Potter is his soulmate.
The sadness, which suddenly fogs his mind, wastes no time on kicking the warm and calm cocoon that enveloped Draco a second ago –huh, might as well be created alone than this. Anything is better than this. To be rejected once and then hated for seven years was one thing, but this? Draco is not sure that he is strong enough to face any rejection toward something as strong as this. Oh, he’s most certain that he’s not in love with Potter or anything similar to that, but he just found out that he has a chance to redeem himself, a chance that he might be happy someday, and to know that he will be denied that probability by the only person that could give him that is crushing. This man spent his entire school year hating the very existence of Draco Malfoy, and now fate decides to put them together, Merlin knows this arrangement would crush Draco to the point of unfixable.
Out of seven billion people in the world, why should it should it be him? Circe, there’s no why Draco would let the boy know about any of this, he’ll get kicked out the moment he opens his mouth. No, Harry Potter deserves better than Draco Malfoy, and Draco Malfoy needs a place to live without being antagonized by the host, so he’s going to shut his mouth about this and makes some ground rules. For example, first and foremost is there will be no touching, and second, he gets his own bedroom. Yeah, no touching and new bedroom sound pretty good for now, the rest should be improvised along the way.
He understands it’s not fair for him to hide this from Potter, but Potter can find his happiness easily. Draco needs to come to term with this on his own, assuring himself that being an acquaintance with his soulmate is better than to be rejected once again, at least he knows he deserves some happiness in his life, and maybe someday if he’s feeling outrageously brave he can tell Potter about this, not caring about the outcome. But right now, he’s not brave nor he feels strong enough to pick up all the leftover pieces of his being after the war, so he’ll stay silent. Risking one more gentle golden touch to Potter’s palm, Draco gaze longingly at the fading golden light.
“It’s funny; I used to think anything was possible when I was a kid.” Draco says quietly under his breath. “I had been stood corrected countless of time, but you have always been the most painful. You’re not possible, Harry Potter, not in my life.”
Draco’s scattered brain finally works properly, and thus the reason he leaves a sleeping Potter on the hunt to search for the house elf.
i hate when people make Draco and Astoria's relationship all angsty like I want them to be that one couple that's all snarky to each other but they obviously love each other a lot and Astoria's not afraid to call Draco out on his bullshit and Draco's not afraid to tell her when to reel herself in a bit and they'd be embarrassingly dorky parents embarrassing Scorpius when he brings his friends home for the summer
