Witch kit: what you need on the go

This is what i carry on a regular basis for my witchcraft. Whenever I have a purse, i have all these with me

Paper, pen, pencil and eraser, for on-the-go sigils

A pocketknife, preferably one with a scissors attachment

At least one cigarette lighter, whether you smoke or not (i don’t) to burn things

Chalk if you’re into drawing sigils on concrete and things

A phone...... yeh....

Hand sanitizer (also, for this time-period... duh)

Gloves to keep energies off you when handling them (but also because of the current pandemic going on, like HELLO)

Sunglasses for glamours and protections

A compact or other hand mirror for various things including divination

You preferred divination method, if portable, is also a good include

A pack of cards

A key (house, locker, car, skeleton key that doesn’t open anything, don’t matter) for personal wards

All cheap, easily accessible things (apart from the phone i guess but eh). All things that will come in handy for any spellcasting

2 Jar Spells

SELF LOVE

Rose petals and oil for healing and peace of mind

Catnip for happiness and good energy

Sugar for self attraction

Rosemary oil to purify

Pink salt to renew love

ANTI-ANXIETY

Chamomile to reduce stress 

Olive oil to promote healing

Moon water to empower spell

Gardenia oil for balance and peace

Amethyst for calmness

If you don’t have something, you can replace any herb with Rosemary. For any crystal Clear Quartz can be used instead.

Remember to always light a candle-- black is best but white is fine-- to protect you while making spells.

#3 Beginner crystals

Some basic beginner crystals, ones you can easily find in a meta-shop, and their basic functions. For me they’re the easiest to work with (I don’t have all of them but I want to acquire these.) 

Agate- protection, healing, gardening

Amethyst- cleans aura, peace, healing

Aventurine- confidence, protection, purifying

Calcite- centering, protection, purifying

Carnelian- energy, courage, protection

*Citrine (self-cleansing)- protection

Fluorite- balancing, anti-depression

Hermatite- grounding, divination

Howlite- calms emotions, aids insomnia

Jade- wisdom, love, gardening

Jasper- healing, protection, beauty

Jet- anti-nightmare, protection, luck

Labradorite- recall dreams, prophecy

Lepidolite- peace, love, psychic powers

Malachite- loyalty, protection, peace

Moonstone- balancing, divination, love

Obsidian- grounding, protection, peace

Quartz- enhances and protects aura

Rose Quartz- gentle love, heals emotions

Selenite- energy, clarity, awareness

Serpentine- resourcefulness, peace

Sodalite- wisdom, healing, meditation

Sunstone- protection, energy, blessing

Tiger’s eye- grounding, willpower, luck

Tourmaline- courage, inspiration, love

Unakite- clarity and transformation

#1 Tips for witches with a budget

- Rosemary can be used in place of any herb

- Roses can be used in place of any flower

- clear quartz can be used in place of any crystal

- white can be used in place of any color

You don’t have to stick exactly to a spell you have found (unless it is complex, you may want to stick to it as much as you can), do what feels the best to you.

Let's start some Witchy Show and Tell

I have yet to meet a witch who wasn't all about show and tell. Everyone is excited to show off their new crystals or talk about their newest method for casting circle or this squirrel that left them a little nugget from the universe. So here is my show and tell :3

A lot of my craft is focused on people, it makes since I am a psych major, so a lot of my items were given to me by people that matter, even in a small way.

The wooden sign was made for me by a friend and someone I don't speak to anymore, he was young when we met and he felt very trapped in his life. I feel as though introducing him to paganism gave him a certain hope that the world is larger than this small town we have only ever known. I love it and keep it, even with its beautiful flaws, because it reminds me the world is so much larger.

My athame I use almost daily, it was given by another friend whose mom was a witch. I use it in my morning cleansing to cut away any morning grumpiness or tiredness.

The black leather pouch is a spell made by a good friend of mine. When my boyfriend and I moved in together she made it as a protection and good will for our home. It's something that doesn't need to be used for me to know it is always working

The bag is a grouping of small items from a dear friend who passed as well as tokens from my goddess, for me a connection with those in the next life.

Finally the salt stone

Salt stones are one of my favorites, they are large and very effective at cleansing an area, I use this one every day to light my intent candle for the day.

I know I haven't been on in awhile but I would love for you to show me your altar or even your favorite witchy things! And remember, it doesn't have to be aesthetic to be beautiful and powerful :3

I'm re-exploring some parts of my spirituality and my time away from tumblr has really taught me a lot. I hope to be posting theory on being a witch and sharing my personal perspective and mentality. As always it is a personal belief and I don't expect anyone to share it. I have found that I've learned the most about my craft from the witches I've met along the way. Hopefully I can be a similar influence for someone else :3
