I found this lovely cafe yesterday on account of the fact that the one I usually go to is shut on Mondays, and it has turned out to be the best thing since I came back to this country. It's an old bungalow, I believe, and the coffee is good (!!! This is a big deal in this country! It's not Melbourne, you know!!) and I came just once yesterday to sit here and translate Polish poetry all day which is my way of learning Polish and spent four hours here, where there are actual sturdy table-height tables which are good for studying (I'm studying! Good golly! Fancy!) and not just for reading and all that chic cafe nonsense and today I came in again and they greeted me and one of the waitresses asked if I had been in yesterday whom I'd not even really seen then and I said yes and they told me my seat (my seat! I'd only come once!) was taken but then they said why don't you go upstairs, it's quieter, and so I have and THE WHOLE FLOOR IS BASICALLY MINE AND THERE IS A BALCONY and when she brought the coffee up she brought an ashtray too before I could even ask if I could smoke on the balcony and said I'll just leave this outside!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE THIS PLACE. They can have all my cafe money. It's theirs now. As long as they don't mind me sitting for hours staring at my computer I will come here ALL THE TIME.
