1726 Manton has gotten its first coat of paint inside and has the bay painted. Tile is in progress in the bathroom. Kitchen cabinets are not far away and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing finishes will start in the next couple of weeks.
Brick is a little over a third of the way done on 1713-17 Manton. 1717 Manton has been insulated and will be getting drywall next week. 1713 & 1715 will be getting insulation and drywall very soon too. Our siding contractor was installing the last few pieces of Hardie panel on the backs of the buildings this afternoon, so with the upcoming planting of the landscaping and installation of the yard fences, the exterior work is nearly complete.
1734 Federal's first floor sheathing is installed and our framers will fly through the rest of the building next week. Rough-in work is going on in the other homes, so they look a little stagnant from the outside, but as exterior work on Manton St. finishes, the Latona St. exteriors will start to see some life.
The cladding and trim on the bay at 1726 Manton has been installed and is now just awaiting some paint. Like the rear elevations, the panels are fiber cement, and the trim pieces are all cellular PVC, which is also an incredibly durable and rot-resistant product.
The brick across the street at 1721 Manton is complete and the work on the bay will follow. Soon the brickwork on the three other homes on the street will get going and we'll have the majority of the exterior work wrapped up.
Fiber cement panels have been installed on the back and front bay of 1726 Manton and are in progress across the street at 1721. We're using a Hardie system with Tamlyn trim in the rears which will all be field-painted. The panels are a nice clean-looking alternative to the ubiquitous stucco or vinyl siding that most builders install.
One of the most overlooked elements of green building is the durability and longevity of building components. Fiber cement is an incredibly durable product that is easy to drain, easy to install, and made of recycled content materials.
