Guts Man vs Hard Man An unstoppable force meets an immovable object! Another in this series. What really inspired me was Ariga’s MegaMix designs, especially because I like how his Guts Man just looks like a beefed up Met.

idk why i wanted to draw them i woke up this morning thinking "what if i drew the thirdliners" and then i did

hard was the first to get reprogrammed because he pissed off wily so he is under the impression this was his fault. as a result postgame he overworks himself heavily and neglects his relationship with his brothers about it. that shit was NOT sustainable and hard's mental and physical health was the proof

he really refused to slow down with it. this led to him getting very angry and irritable or just not expressing much emotion in general as he worked

snake was the person hard had the toughest relationship with. snake's boredom and frustration leading him to cause trouble and hard being easily angered by this point was not a good combo. hard cares about snake, but like. the ways he expressed it were indirect or related to their work. which led snake to be distrustful of hard especially with how he acts openly toward him and what happened with wily before

top was hard's closest confidant in these times and only top really got a good understanding of how much hard was suffering with the overworking emotionally and saw the full scope of what sort of feelings hard was trying to deal with aside from those that others saw. but it was pretty useless to try and convince him otherwise at all. hard would listen to top on other subjects though, at least. top felt sympathy for him but also was a little terrified sometimes… hard appreciated top's company a lot especially when he's stressed, top is good at de-escalation and just generally calming things down as a part of his pilot skills

needle, gemini and spark all really stayed out of hard's lane and didnt interact with him much, and of course hard was not really trying to interact with them beyond the necessary either with the whole closing himself off from everyone else stuff

hard's relationship with magnet is not good. theres a few different factors to it from hard's perspective but magnet being the only like Actual Doctor there hard has to be around him pretty frequently because of his health difficulties. magnet is highly frustrated with hard because he does not fucking listen to his advice on how to not run himself into the ground no matter how many times he says it and it just makes a job he doesnt enjoy even worse. he doesnt tend to get into many altercations with hard tho mostly because he is tired enough of his bullshit that he just sort of Leaves upon having to really fight him on anything. hard does not appreciate magnet's frustration at all especially since hes pretty used to everybody else aside from snake being quite intimidated by him and not wanting to incur his anger at all and also the whole vulnerability inherent to medical treatment does not sit well with his shutting himself away from everyone. also he kind of needs to do this or risk a lot of pain or things getting worse in general
