Drawing practices - Nefertiti
Drawing practices – Nefertiti
Long time no university studies, but now drawing course started, yay!
We started with still-life from some materials everyone brought and with the addition of few plaster models. In groups of four we set the materials on desk and started drawing around the table our own settings.
My group got plaster model of Nefertiti’s bust. It was interesting to read some facts afterwards of Nefertiti.…

Pastel portrait
I continued with my saturated pastel portraits. Now shifting from cool person and warm background to vice versa. I am thinking of total four color portraits in pastels, thus two more to come at some point.
I used again my old trusted Rembrandt pastels and I also purchased a small wooden case with some new colors. I can then reuse the box for other purposes, once I get my larger empty case…

Spring - pastel drawing assignment
My image for an assignment to draw Spring landscape, shadows and light, with a living creature. So my valiant chihuahua posed for me in the forest trail. I wanted to draw midday sunny day, which luckily came by as I was working from home, so I managed to go for a quick walk during the day to capture the intense blue sky and shadows cast by trees.
Life drawing (16.3.2019)
The second weekend with a longer session for life drawing (one pose for entire lesson). We started the first day with the croquis drawings, many poses for the length of a song, which was quite disheartening for me, but the second day was back to life drawing with one pose. I was a bit worried what my mindset is, can I get anything done after yesterday :D but I did manage to get over myself and finish the picture. I had to move the model a few times to the right and adjust leg pose so he fit into the paper, but he turned out ok. I think :) (I love the grey paper, glad I changed from white)
