How does your OC need to be loved?
Saw some of my mutuals doing this and decided to join the fun. My OCs are, very literally, the same soul in different bodies (and millennia apart).
Harillena is an ancient elf.
Before she had a body, she was a spirit of Devotion and Felassan’s (Guidance at the time) companion spirit. She was forcefully pulled from the Fade after answering Elgar’nan’s call, bound to his will and then shaped into flesh from his own blood, erasing her memories and creating a very twisted Father/Daughter, Creator/Creation dynamic between them. In a desperate act of resistance, she started an underground liberation movement and later joined Solas’s rebellion as its eyes and ears inside Elgar’nan’s court.
So, naturally, her quiz result being “like you can love again” feels painfully fitting. Harillena is someone whose devotion has been weaponised so thoroughly that she struggles to separate it from obsession, servitude, or martyrdom: the three ways a spirit of Devotion can be corrupted. So the love she needs is the kind that teaches her how to love again, with all the false pretences stripped away. Patiently. Gently. Until she learns what it means to be truly loved.
Ellana Lavellan, on the other hand, is her reincarnation.
Before she became Inquisitor, she was First of Clan Lavellan: a mortal elven woman born into a Dalish clan in Antiva, before leaving with her family to join Clan Lavellan when they found themselves short on mages. She demonstrated remarkable magical talent from a young age, eventually turned out to be a somniari, and has always been drawn to learning, forests, old stories, and elven history. She also has a terrible habit of involving herself in politics, especially when they concern elves or mages. Which is exactly why she volunteers to infiltrate the Conclave.
Ellana’s result, “like lovers watching the sunset,” feels like exactly what a passionate, curious, thoughtful woman needs when she feels the whole world resting on her shoulders and chooses to carry it anyway. She needs to enjoy and savour as much as she can from a life that is both fleeting and determined to keep taking things from her.
