This is my new OC Grape Agate (or Grape for short) I commissioned from one of my besties @harinezumiko

The idea for her came about mulling about gem meanings and such and how amethysts were associated with Dionysus. Dots started connecting in my head and next thing you know we have a greek-themed "upper crust" doppelganger of Amethyst from Blue's Court.

Grape Agate is a deep cut and though she is undersized her accomplishments especially in battle allowed her to raise in status from a soldier to a "noble" so to say. She accepted her raised status modestly, though she does admit she doesn't care much for the "high life".

Her weapon is a javelin and you can bet Amethyst gets a little jealous of this "copy cat" getting along with Pearl comparing polearm fighting techniques lol.

She does have a gf, who may get her own art in the future!

Oh man, now I'd like to ask too... What do you think of Pearlnet? For me it was my big gateway into the show, because they seemed so casually and comfortably close, but Garnet/Amethyst/Pearl all kind of drifted apart toward season five as far as Mom Squad went. (Although Amethyst and Pearl got closer, which is good! But the casual contact really seemed to vanish even in domestic situations.)

Haha well I remember back in the day when there were like, much fewer ships Pearlnet and Pearlmethyst were sometimes in opposition because there’s always a select few who instigate ship wars.  But in all honesty Pearlnet is good and I totally see the appeal.  Especially the more we’ve learned throughout the seasons with how much they’ve been through together and how they’re both like the responsible gem moms (though Amethyst has matured tremendously).  Obviously I lean more to Pearlmethyst myself but I have friends who adore Pearlnet and I love exchanging ship art of each other’s favorite ships.  I do miss all the casual contact Pearl and Amethyst used to have more regularly, but I did LOVE when Pearl just leapt over, grabbed her and they fused in .5 seconds. Nothing says I care about you a lot like fusing in front of the diamond authority, Ruby and Sapphire would know.
