I don't think so? (if an actual venetian/italian sees this and knows better, please correct) but venetian masks are sold to tourists and non-italians by venetians. I would assume it's not quite the same. Perhaps it depends on the type of mask?
I was thinking more like that it might depend on what you plan on doing with it? In which case the answer is simple; purely for decoration!
