Teaching a tune workshop on Saturday. It will be fun we'll have coffee it'll be nice and relaxed. I've prepared some super simple tunes bc most of the ladies are either newer to the harp or new to learning by ear apart from one woman who is already great at both of those things lmao
WHY must fugues be so cool but so fuckin hard to learn at the same time
took some time this fine afternoon to look at pedaling and there is a decent solution to m7-9 of träumerei which involves 10 total pedal moves, including only 4 actual foot changes and one crossover
then looked up other harp versions on yt out of curiosity and turns out there’s a lever harp version which sounds. fine and if i just, you know, considered leaving out some harmony notes and revoicing a little it’d be practically sightreadable
this feels like some sort of metaphor

GOD I wish the third movement of the sophia dussek c minor was as good as the first two
practicing the magic fire music is fun and good because I have absolutely no expectation that I will ever perform it, and also slowly ticking the metronome up is a good feeling
i don’t like that in order to practice i have to take off my warm toasty socks :(
