I know Jig doesn't care for relationships, but how sweet would it be if Harper became another father figure to them! Minus.. how things are between them, of course 😅

Ooooo I have been in fact thinking about this…Because I can see a Queer platonic relationship between the two… If Jigs dense ass would. Or compromises and MORE DAMN COMMUNICATION…

Yes, Harper would ADORE the kids. He was an only child growing up and was expected to carry on the family name (All the more reason his dad was pissed to find out his only son was gay). He always enjoyed babysitting his younger cousins, and was more emotionally aware. He’d definitely balance out Jigs…Everything. Emotions wise. Even more sad as they’re both each other’s literal foils and counter balance.

Harper would offer his own perspective (more emotions leaning) while Jig would offer his perspective that was more logic heavy. This giving the kids a more nuanced and leveled perspective growing up.

He’s a pretty live in the moment type person and while he does agree with safety and blah blah blah he’d encourage the kids to take life by the horns every now and then and do something fun while they still have the time to do it.

Plus when they were a thing, Gordon was legit rooting for this.

“My son had a boyfriend!?” He Is That Type of Dad. Because honestly he always assumed Jig just would never be involved with anyone. He couldn’t care less about Jigs sexuality all that matters is if the persons treating him well. And golden buzzers went off when it came to Harper.

Is there more to know about Harper? 👀

Oh yeah most DEFINITELY.

To start off simple Harper is Puerto Rican. First gen American. He met Jig when Jig was at his absolute lowest. He was depressed, lost his head and killed the guy who killed his mom and started to withdraw from his family.

Harper could tell the guy needed a friend. So that’s what they started off as. Friends. He’d accompany Jig on his daily routine. Jig really didn’t have a good argument was to why he couldn’t so he let him tag along. Eventually he welcomed the company and invited Harper into his home and the visits started to get more frequent.

Harper back then wasn’t out of the closest. So in a way they both helped each other out. He wasn’t very comfortable with his sexuality and appearing un-masculine, especially in the presence of Jig who to him was the definition of masculine. Strong build, no emotions, no nonsense, sucked up the pain and suffered in silence. Till that illusion was quickly broken, and realized Jig didn’t intentionally mean to give off that vibe. Jig was far more encouraging than his own family to partake in activities he deemed to be fun for him and express himself.

Eventually Harper let the reins go and started to drop the false mask he’d hide behind, he was more expressive in his mannerisms, and became more affectionate with Jig. Jig who typically didn’t like affection allowed it.

Time passed a bit (their relationship was not an overnight thing THINGS TAKE TIME when it comes to Jig). Eventually they moved into together as roommates. By this point Harper was completely comfortable with himself and his sexuality and Jig was outta his depression. Harper through his form of affection would through in pet names, Jiggy, love, Ravenhead, he even managed babe at one point, ect. They ended up watching a movie one night and fell asleep together on the couch. They both woke up at the same time and Harper was practically cuddling Jig. He pulled away so fast and was blushing. (He’s had feelings for Jig for awhile at this point but didn’t wanna ruin the friendship)

Jig just looked at him. Didn’t say a word. Just hearing him apologize over and over again and said he’ll leave and Jig asked Why.

He stayed with him after that. And JIG was the one who asked him if he’d like to get dinner with him.

After that they basically were in an unlabeled relationship. Jig didn’t go for the romance part he only really liked being with Harper. It got to the point where they left in the same bed. Nothing happened. They’d shower separately, Harper always respected Jigs personal space. Till Gordon dropped by and a shirtless Harper answered the door, soon followed by an also shirtless Jig who just got out of the shower and didn’t think to put a shirt on.

“Just be saf—“ and the door was shut on him by Jig.

Eventually it went down south when they were alone together on a balcony, and emotions took over and Harper went in for a kiss. Jig froze completely. He let it happened for Harper’s sake but he couldn’t do it.

They had a long talk and Jig said he can’t be the one for Harper they both want different things and Jig can’t provide what Harper wants in a relationship, romance wise. And they broke it off. Harper was not okay after that. He blames himself for what happened and has not dated anyone since. And neither has Jig. Now Jig just focuses on being a good dad to his kids and on occasion still thinks about Harper.

Harper’s currently works in real estate and lives alone with his cat named Raven. He doesn’t really talk to his family due to ideological differences, hangs out with friends on occasion. He’s still not open to dating again. It’s been about 10 years. And they still think about each other. If he could take back that kiss he would and grieves it.

Back when Jig was young and had his hair much longer. Jigs always been complicated when it came to relationships. He’s Asexual/Aromantic but didn’t know back then. He’s been in various relationships (none of them really worked out cuz man cannot do romance) but this one was the one he valued most. They are literally the AND THEY WERE ROOMMATES.
