“Is that supposed to be some philosophical question? Because you sound like Patrick, but at least you’re not going on about your ball cancer.

Tina’s eyes flicked automatically downward, a blush tinting her cheeks. She and Mike had been friends for a while now, at least friends in the way that everyone in the glee club was friends. But there was something about spending the summer together, working, dancing in close proximity, it was like seeing him in another light. She looked back up at him, smiling. “You know,  I could say the same to you.”

“Let’s go to the park and have a picnic!”

Tina was beaming and hopped up from her seat. “That's perfect, Blaine.” She come to visit for a week of her summer vacation, Kurt and Blaine playing host and letting her get a taste of New York, more so than when she came for Rachel’s opening and it was all about their diva friend. “I’ve always envisioned a cute picnic date in Central Park, even if this is just a friend-date.”

“I don’t think anyone could ever be as lovely as you my dear.”

“Tell that to bachelors five, six, and seven,” Tina said with a dry laugh as she rested her head on Blaine’s shoulder. “I think the world is just trying to remind me that you’re the only guy for me.” She was long past her romantic feelings for her best friend, but other guys would never match up to what she was looking for.

“Can I kiss you?”

Tina took a deep breath and nodded, feeling nervous and overwhelemed. Reconnecting with Mike, though good, had been hard for her. They’d both said spiteful things in the aftermath, but it felt real, felt right. “But only if you mean it,” she said, her voice just above a whisper before letting his lips take hers.

“You’ll never feel alone with me by your side.”

“But that’s the thing, Blaine, I do feel alone. And I know I have you and Sam and ‘Cedes and everyone else… but I’m the odd one out. I’m the one not in a relationship, I’m the one home on a Saturday night babysitting for my neighbors while you’re all out on dates.” Tina stopped and sighed, “it’s just… maybe it’s selfish. I just want to be first priority to someone all the time for once.”
