Late in her career, the artist Harriette Joffe began a series of works inspired by the swirls, eddys and currents of the Connecticut River which passed by her home. She painted them on Yupo because, being translucent, it allowed the light to pass through and “bounce back,” thereby illuminating the work from behind. She scored the works, as you can see here, to add texture and interest.
