back in 2018 or so there was a "favorite character mashup" meme going around where you make a moodboard of your faves and then construct an utterly self-indulgent OC out of it. well i never finished anything of it at the time but 3 years later i decided to pick it up again (and in the process, apparently, swapped the eye his eyepatch was on...). hes just a certain space marin- every guy i ever draw but now with an eyepatch

hes unknowingly a part of some top secret government conspiracy. he used to be in some sort of military quartermaster-esque role and got a benign eye injury, then they accidentally mixed him up with another guy who was supposed to get an experimental nanomachine eye operation. they caught it mid-way but whats done was done. his left eye is functional but gives him problems because they never finished installing it. they then discharged him because the whole debacle is very embarrassing and shoved him in some middle-of-nowhere security job to keep him out of trouble/prying eyes. randall is just a kind of a pathetic guy who cant help but put his foot in his mouth, which is why he is saddled with a baby sitting job and is doing a terrible job of it
