where: somewhere on the farm, lunchtime with: @reclusiveharry
Lily had seen Harry arrive on the farm early that morning, and it had given her a strange sense of determination. Tomas had taken Flora with him that morning, but there was a mug of orange juice left out for her, and Lily had spent five minutes trying not to break down over it.
But she didn’t actually get around to leaving until lunchtime; she’d made sure the rooms were clean, the dishes were washed and put away, other chores that needed doing so she could tell herself she was still useful to have around. And when she did, she brought with her a basket carrying two meals held in repurposed tupperware containers, courtesy of the line-up. She wasn’t sure what Harry liked so it was just the basics: grilled corn and saltfish, two boiled eggs, and of course bananas.
And she brought the journals from the boat, since Harry had called off their conversation and left before Lily had had a chance to actually give them to her. They were under the lunches and were meant to be a surprise, but only God would know if Harry liked surprises. God and Lily, in about two minutes.
“Hi Auntie,” she said, with a smile. “I have a surprise for you. Close your eyes!”
