His mom had stopped by the house just in time to catch both Harry and his dad at home. It had been a typical family reunion: every man for himself. Nothing like a little family loyalty. They’d all left, upset and irritated, and Harry had ended up here: in front of Rosie’s. 

It was a tiny place that didn’t get much foot traffic (you’d only find yourself there if you were seeking it out), but then all the good places were reserved for people with a much larger income than what Rosie Holland was able to bring it. Harry told her he’d help her get a better place (he laughed at the thought of withdrawing money from his dad’s account only to have Rosie take it to pay her rent), but she was determined to do this on her own. (That hadn’t stopped him from paying random people now and again to go see her). 

He stood out front, smoking a cigarette, as he waited her to finish up with a client. Moments later, they both emerged. He was in his early thirties: balding, overweight, socially awkward-- the kind of guy probably lived in his mom’s basement where he watched porn and played Halo. 

“Look at that poor bastard,” He said, watching him walk away, “If he needs you to tell you that his future’s gonna suck, he’s a fucking idiot.” 

He smirked, “Is tomorrow going to be as shitty as today?” He asked, dropping  his cigarette to the ground and crushing it beneath his foot. He wasn’t sure if he was asking about her customer’s tomorrow or his own. He’d joke about wanting to know, but the future scared the shit out of him -- particularly his future. Everyday his life only got more fucked up. There was no rush to catch a glimpse of it: he had a hard enough time trying to drown out the present. It was god damn ironic: he trying to escape the past, present and future by visiting someone who could see all three. 

If there was a god, he was laughing.

okay but i’m so pumped for whatever the hell this relationship will be like MY GOD ;DD

so what kind of expectations does david have for harry/like what does he want him to be doing w/ his life + future? (i can already tell you that harry is doing none of them) and like how involved was he when harry was a kid? also i can’t remember if i said for sure anyway, but i imagine harry living mostly w/ his dad (at least after the divorce)? although now that he’s older i feel like he just crashes at whichever house he feels like (aka whichever parent is currently pissing him off less)

anyway, how long do you think that rosie has been working as a physic btw? b/c i think that’s probably when he first really met her? i mean he may have seen her around now and again, b/c i do think that he hangs over on the ~other side of town now and again but idk that they had much interaction until then tbh

okay so gigi and harry are the same age, so they might know each other?? i feel like there is a private school + then a public one and most of the poor kids obviously go to the public one, but idk i can see the coles possibly sending gigi to the private one??? idk?? but even if not, i feel like harry does kind of hang around on the ~wrong side of town and could have possibly met gigi, especially when they were in high school or whatever? there’s every chance that he hit on her/tried to sleep w/ her but he probably got bored with her before that happened??
