1, 13, & 14!! 💖💖

1. What was the first series you watched and how did you find out about it? 

Band of Brothers! I became aware of it through my older brother who was going through a hard WWII phase in the mid 2000s.

13. Do you have a favorite Band of Brothers episode? Which one and why?

If you had asked me years ago, I probably would’ve said Bastogne without hesitation (boy do we love a medic). But now it’s practically impossible for me to choose just one. If you were twisting my arm... I would probably still go with Bastogne (HA!) or Points.

14. Do you have a favorite The Pacific episode? Which one and why?

ITS HOME. THE LAST EPISODE. FULL STOP. I can’t believe The Pacific Ep. 10 invented catharsis.

20. Do you like your fashion sense the way it is or do you aspire to have a different aesthetic?

Well I think there’s always clothes out there I would love but I haven’t bought, I like a comfy yet cute aesthetic

14. Would you rather wander the forest or swim in the ocean?

my favorite female character: silna! though lady jane is a close second

my favorite male character: rn i have to say stanley (but francis, blanky, alexander and goodsir are all close seconds :p)

my favorite book/season/etc: i still haven’t watched s02 so

my favorite episode (if its a tv show): probably ep5 with blanky having so much screen time and that amazing scene with francis and alexander actually talking for more than a minute

my favorite cast member: charles edwards, though i’m definitely a big fan of alistair and jared as well

my favorite ship: alexander/stanley, i still have no idea how that happened tbh, and francis/blanky because i’m a sucker for the friends to lovers trope :’)

a character I’d die defending: stanley, i just…..love him…..sm

a character I just can’t sympathize with: hodgson

a character I grew to love: quite a few, but the first one is alexander i think, like, i didn’t even notice him the first time i watch the show because i was too focused on francis, blanky and goodsir, but then suddenly here he was being all pretty and caring and a real sweetheart :’)

my anti otp: …… fitzier, it’s just one of those ships you’re indifferent to but then it’s everywhere and it’s getting annoying :p

my favorite episode (if its a tv show): I watched it at once so I can’t really tell the episodes apart, I liked the show as a whole

The room disappears, Arya Stark disappears--all that is left are the torches along the wall. His vision blurs until all that remains are those torches, beautiful orange and yellow and red flames that melt into each other, filling his vision. And then they fade back out, stretching to the end of a long tunnel. Beric finds himself walking down it, his wounds painless. 

At the end of the tunnel is a door made of fire. He pushes past it, the flames warm and comfortable against his skin. 

On the other side, smiling at him, is Thoros.

“You look like shit,” he says.

Beric finds himself laughing. “Funny--I’ve never felt better.”

“After dying as many times as you have, I bet.” Thoros holds out his hand. “Come on. The Lord of Light wants you to see.”

“See what?” 

Thoros’s smile widens. “Everything.”

1. What was the first series you watched and how did you find out about it?  so like. fun fact. but i’m incapable of remembering things unless i get full fledged crazy obsessed with them and watch them on repeat ad naus. so given that, i think i actually watched bob first on a dvd rental from the library when i was like........ nine? and then promptly forgot. and then sometime in high school a hannibal blog i followed (remember the hannibal tells bad jokes memes! i think it was lecterings who did it???) posted a Cool Bob Edit. like that distinct 2013/14 typography gif style? and i was like neat! i should watch this! and then i did, realized i had seen it, and went nuts. 

 2. Which series of the three is your favorite? Why?  i feel like this is such a cop out answer but this is also such an hbo war thing but it changes like all the time. bob is what i watch when i want a “ahhh the salad days... when you didn’t have to interrogate the moral ambiguity of allied involvement in war!!” and like. my same reason for loving the breaking point is bob is like a classic war narrative with a (relatively) happy ending. it stays fairly surface, and it ends in warm lighting fade outs.  gen kill is what i watch when im ready to just go nuts. which. like tbf is not often. it is not often i want to get full unhinged about the iraq war.  so by process of elimination, the pacific is probably the sweet spot??? i know its like the LEAST funny jokey but it actually reads a lot like (my gold standard) mash to me?? which like hear me out, is because it’s “war is hell, but friends are good”. its like equal parts Hot Takes on military action, and compassionate. so i guuuuueesss its the pacific now? 

 15. Do you have a favorite Generation Kill episode? Which one and why? i. ALSO refuse to watch it one episode at a time because it makes go absolutely crazy and i cannot handle that much extra emotion in my day to day life so. tbh forgot it had episodes and was not just a 7 hour long a24 movie
