At the airport
Mom booked me a red eye flight to Providence. Hanging out at the bar, not drinking, just chilling and enjoying the wi-fi signal. Will board in slightly less than an hour. I'm an anxious flyer. I'm always afraid I will get stranded on my connection layover, and one time, my return flight got cancelled. I got lost all over DC trying to get back to my sister's condo. The flight they booked me on the next day left at the ass crack of dawn. Seeing my sister, favorite aunt, and my mom will be the saving grace of this weekend. Seeing my grandma's immediate relatives will feel empty with Grandma gone. She was just such a delight. She took me to flea markets and the beach and paid for my dance classes and art lessons. She taught me how to make pie. She was one of those people who everyone knew and enjoyed. http://www.ccgfuneralhome.com/obit/harryette-l.-alexander This is her obit. Interestingly, the funeral director is one of my high school classmates, and he lived down the road from me when we were kids. Falmouth is a small world all of its own.
