Confessing to your crush is easier said than done, and given that Ryuji has been pining after Haru nearly since the moment he laid eyes on her, he’s long since resigned himself to keeping his feelings for her at a distance.

The same can’t be said for Ann, who’s tired of seeing two of her best friends miss out on their chance for happiness and decides to take matters into her own hands.

The push she gives Ryuji sees the love between him and Haru coming into full bloom while on vacation in Osaka, during a date full of firsts for both of them.

A commission done for me by the talented ScruffyTurtles. In my mind I had whipped up an explanation for this to view it both romantically or platonically.

From a romantic point of view it can simply be taken as a normal pairing of three characters.

Platonically I imagined that, some time after joining the Phantom Thieves, now being more aware of her school than she ever was, Haru notices how Ryuji remains unfairly stigmatized and ostracized by the school body and that no efforts to integrate or reconcile with him were instigated by anyone outside the PT’s themselves, despite him being proven absolutely correct about Kamoshida. Thus, deciding she doesn’t like people constantly gossiping rudely behind Ryuji’s back, Haru decides to enlist Makoto’s help in giving the students of Shujin something else to gossip about and thus we lead to this little scene largely intended just to be something of a morale booster to a friend who has consistent problems being told he’s of no value to anyone and has no chance to succeed in life.
