The Lich stared.

Haruke, his apprentice - and dare he say love interest - was busily putting some... strange, glossy, viscous looking goop on her lips. He hovered closer, eyes narrowing further than they usually were.

“What are you doing, Haruke?” Samael asked, his voice other-worldly, long bony fingers twitching. The small blood elf turned to look up at him, smacking her lips together. He made a sound of distaste, but looked at her lips curiously nonetheless.

“Just putting on some lip gloss,” she explained, reaching up toward him as if the cup his skinless face in her hands, “come here, please?”

Samael huffed, still eyeing her lips apprehensively, and lowered his head to her hands. Haruke exhaled, closing her eyes, and channelled her strong necromatic powers into him. He could feel muscle and sinew and tissue and skin forming over his skeletal face, and Samael flexed his jaw after a moment. Her palms were warm against his cheeks.

“And?”

Haruka opened her eyes, some sweat gathering on her brows from the effort it took just to restore his face. She gave him a small smile.

“Still handsome.”

“Hmph.”

“Hold still.”

Now, this request of hers was new, and Samael stared into her eyes questioningly. In answer, Haruke pressed her lips to his.

His nose twitched.

Haruke rubbed her lips against his, her mischievous smile easily felt along the length of his. He could only feel his frown deepening at this awkward sensation, and when Haruke pulled back, he could feel the strands of this sticky lip gloss that was between their lips.

“You don’t have to look so grossed out!” Haruke informed him, the touch of a laugh on her voice. Samael instinctively licked his lips, and his eyes widened at the fruity taste that assaulted his senses.

Seconds later her spell dissolved, reverting Samael’s face from his living, troll appearance back to the skeletal face of a Lich. He gave Haruke a look that was a cross between disgruntlement and intrigue.

“... there better not be any of this strange lip gloss on my teeth, Haruke.”

“Oh please,” she waved a hand at him after she withdrew both from his face, “your cold breath will freeze the remnants, and it will just fall off. Don’t worry about it, Samael~”

The Lich seemed to pout at her, and his attempt to do so only made her laugh softly.

She’s never really been on the receiving end of someone’s worry and care.18. Things they’ll never admitShe hates her family.It’s something she struggles with daily, having to pretend she cares for them when they’ve never shown her the same kindness in return. The rumors when she was a child destroyed her mother and the stories of her father that her mother used to tell her when she was small. So she’s quite detached from her kin, and is always seeking a moment when she could leave and pursue her love of the dreams that call to her.
